Miley settled down. I'll give him that. AL West so far is pretty even.

The Mariners have won all four of their road series so far. Their OPS on the road vs. at home is ridiculous.

Not that I want disaster to strike Safeco or anything, but if something made the Mariners play all the rest of their games on the road, they'd probably make the playoffs.

Why though? Until 2010, safeco wasn't near as hard to hit in for the Mariners. But since then, it's been hell.

I want to see how the M's do on the upcoming homestand. They have a two 3-game series against the Astros and then the defending world champions KC Royals. Got a feeling this team will come home and disappoint after an impresive road trip. This has 2-4 of 1-5 written all over it. If we can go 3-3 on the home-stand I'll be impressed.
Yeah I'd definitely take a 3-3 homestand, especially against those two teams.

The good news is that the Astros are really struggling to start the year.

Walker looked fantastic tonight. His 118th pitch was 97 MPH. He struck out the last 6 guys he faced.

Gritty finish. Cishek almost Rodney'd out on us, but got the save.

Late edit: actually good D saved his butt. ;)

A fun and exciting game at Safeco? On a night that the Rangers and A's both lose?

Fun baseball in April! It's been so long!

And hey, it was for the division lead, too. Mariners leading the ALWest in April. How long since that has happened?

Let us bathe in the reality that the Marines are above .500, it's almost May and they are leading the division. Hallelujah FSM!

This is why I was arguing with a poster here last year that said the needed to get dump him in a trade because he was underachieving at the time. You don't give up a young arm like that. His potential finally looks like it is starting to be realized.

I guess that makes Walker our first pitcher with two wins?

That's what they said on the broadcast. Great outing for Walker tonight. 11 strikeouts including the last six guys he faced? Outstanding.

Dare I have hope for a playoff berth or is it too early to go there? Me thinks so. Still.....

Things To Be Optimistic About:

I think the starting pitching is starting to settle into thier groove.

The BP could be better than '14 if they keep strong.

When the weather starts heating up, so will the bats. What I like the most is that while the hitting is still very sporadic I dont think the homeruns have regressed so much but the base on balls looks to have improved.

The West is wide open, not one team looks dominant, but so far the Mariners have the best run differential of the division perhaps the only positive one at that. Remember seeing that stat somewhere.
