You know, for as big an M's fan as I am (I rarely, rarely miss games), I have no idea what BABIP, wRC+, or FIP are or what they mean.
Amen.

I don't know who called the Cano homerun on the radio but that might have been the worst I have ever heard. Dear Mariners, please get rid of whoever that guy is.

i always thought he sounded super over exaggerated and acts like he won the world series every time we hit a home run

If the bats start to show some consistency, do you foresee a potential trade for a better arm than Miley?

Maybe, but James Paxton is healthy and pitching well down in Tacoma right now so I'd expect to see him sooner rather than later if Miley continues to struggle.

The thing is the M's don't need Miley. They have Mike Montgomery who can fill that role and do better. At least he wouldn't be any worse. They should just cut their losses with Miley and be done with it. He's had 3 starts and he's been pathetic in all of them. In his last one, he only lasted 3 1/2 innings.

Yeah I just never understood the Miley deal, you have Paxton and Montgomery why go get Miley. If he was a free agent maybe as a insurance policy but to trade for him makes no sense to me.

I understand why they were making a trade (Iwakuma was a FA and all expectations was he wasn't coming back)....the choice being Miley was bad. He wasn't worth losing Elias or Carson Smith for. They could have traded for something better or just suck with Elias and plus Smith could have helped in the bullpen. This would have been a better rotation -

Hernandez, Iwakuma, Montgomery/Elias, Walker, Karns/Paxton. At some point, they are going to have to let young guys pitch and cut their teeth in the bigs. That would have been better than using mediocre at best retreads like Miley.

Nice to see this team get back to .500. They're now 7-3 on the road and only 1-5 at home. I want to see how this team does when they return to Safeco Field.

Does anybody know what the scoop was with Hernandez not getting the start last night? It looks like he is slated for today however.

Announcers said some kind of flu. Not an injury or anything. Nice to see Kuma cover for him. Had a good outing overall for such short notice.

If they're gonna take this series they likely need to win tonight since Miley is pitching tomorrow, he of the 8.04 ERA and opponent BA of .388.

Mariners score 4 runs in the top of the first. Good start. Miley then proceeds to let up three runs in the bottom of the first.

He has to go. Very much doubt he'll stay in the rotation by all star break. What a disaster.

There's our boy Miley....no lead is safe with this guy pitching. Please get rid of this guy DiPoto. Everybody makes mistakes and you made one aquiring this guy.

Definitely :34853_doh: worthy.

Then he almost goes a strong 8 innings. Oh well, he didn't lose the lead before they pulled him, at least. Thankfully, the hitters realized they better put up some runs if Miley is out there. Pity they can't do that for Felix.

I want to see how the M's do on the upcoming homestand. They have a two 3-game series against the Astros and then the defending world champions KC Royals. Got a feeling this team will come home and disappoint after an impresive road trip. This has 2-4 of 1-5 written all over it. If we can go 3-3 on the home-stand I'll be impressed.

I hear you. Would be nice if they figure out how to score some runs at home.

Nine wins by nine different pitchers. Who'd a thunk? :Dunno:
