Seems to have worked for Zunino. He's been decent since he came back up.

Mike Zunino has given the team MVP level play since his callup, for 56 plate appearances anyway.

The Mariners are 10-4 in games Mike Zunino starts this year.

Bases loaded in the 6th and Seager swings with 2 strikes at what was pretty much an unhittable pitch nowhere near the plate. What's with him? Wish he was hitting more like his 2015 self.

Edit: And two innings later he hits a 3-run homer to a fan wearing a leopard skin Shriner's cap. Now in the 9th tied at 4 apiece. Time for Diaz? We actually really need this win.

This ump is having an absolutely horrible night. Some of the worst calls and no calls I've seen in a professional baseball game. Dude is straight trippin.

Also, it's awfully hard to win a game when you can't score a run with the bases loaded and no outs. C'mon M's, do better.

Yeah, just embarrassment all around. Are you really surprised though? Choking with the bases loaded (especially with 1 or no outs) has been this team's M.O. for a long time.

The ump played a big part in Kyle and Seth swinging at those 100% balls. Adrian Johnson's strike zone is the worst I've ever seen. It's hard to blame them when Johnson would of have called them out anyway. But still, I see what you're saying. Some things just never change.

Been noticing that. And Leonys was apparently supposed to have a bat twice the length the last two times he was up, struck out looking both times when the final pitch in both instances was clearly out by inches.

So dumb, why would you pinch run for Cano and yank him for the game? Not to mention he was only on first with two outs. It just makes no sense.

Nice to see the bullpen doing well lately. This guy we got from the Pirates can throw heat. How many teams can say they have multiple guys in their pen who can throw 100 mph? We can.

I think it had to do with Cano being banged up a little bit. I don't think it had anything to do with strategy.

Oh I didn't see that, that would make sense then.

Both teams will need big games from their aces tomorrow. Bullpens are spent.

Yeah definitely. We may have to call someone else up for tomorrow. It would be nice if Martin could end it right here so we could save wilhelmsen.

The game isn't even over yet, and the Mariners have already struck out 16 times. I wonder what the team record is?

16Ks is an unbelievable number, given that they faced a mediocre starter and then some of the Tiger's worst relievers. Some nights you just don't have it. It's amazing that Seattle has a chance to win a game like this.

Part of it might be due to this umpires ridiculous strike zone but yeah.

LOL I watched the entire game only to have the broadcast get shut off on me right before the final pitch. Apparently they shut off the HD broadcast at midnight in my area.

I aint even mad.
