Surely there is a free agent lineman

Who is better then Stone Forsythe. There has to be. It's really hard for me to believe there isn't someone sitting at home who is better. Anything would be an upgrade
Okay - I don't follow personnel like some of y'all.

BUT - It seems like we've been trying to fix the OLine for like 8 years now.

I just don't get what takes so long/why we haven't been able to do it.

Maybe I'm just a little daft, but seems like most of the post about the Oline could easily be from any of the last 5-10 seasons.

Like I was saying to my wife yesterday during the game when K9 went off. Great. Looks awesome. Love me some K9. But if he's going to shoulder the team because the Oline are turnstiles and Geno only has .75 seconds to get rid of the ball - well it works right up until your RB gets crippled.

Not really a rant. Just don't get it, and having the Defense and RB room carry a shitty offense, well - is like Deja Vu all over again, isn't it?

This line surely cannot be as bad as they looked in the first half. I believe who ever is coaching the line has alot to do with it. Last year I don't think they looked this bad. Think about it we have arguably the same oline and d line. The difference is Mike's defensive unit looked more prepared.

About 15 years ago college football changed and OL became an afterthought. It didn't matter at first because there were still some good-great OL coming out. Now, those OL are in the league and the new crop/generation are almost useless.

Give the coaching staff some time. O-lineman haven't been bad the past 10 years because they're less athletic or something. It's because it's not being taught anymore in trade for offense more geared towards quick passes and not having to block. UW didn't have the best O-line because they got the best athlete's and highest recruits. It was because these guys coached them up to fit their style of play.

Ok, I'm in a wheelchair but I'll come in to replace "Stone Forsythe", I'd do it for the team.
There's a reason he was named Stone! And I'd not be as big of a cap hit..

Just signed to replace Forsythe. The team is said to be excited about the upgrade...

I know this sounds like talking out of both sides...but Curtis was worse than Forsythe in pre-season. That experiment did not work.
Forsythe was at least playing starters. So I'll agree with you.

I just think if veterans, like Forsythe (but moreso Tomlinson), aren't going to be better than replacement level, play the younger dude and see if he can get better. Maybe it's Pircher or Greenfield instead. I just know they see something in Curtis. I think he can get better.

Maybe I'm way off and it's DJ Humphries or another free agent.

That second safety was horrific. Watch Tomlinson on that play. I rewatched it a couple of times and almost barfed. Zach Allen is a good player. Tomlinson was so slow on that play that Allen looked like Aaron Donald.

Ya, I'm more concerned about Tomlinson. I get he's not supposed to be awesome. But he's supposed to be competent.

If Laumea and Haynes aren't starting at guard in a few weeks I'll be shocked.

Watch Stone on the K9 TD and that’s all you need to see.

As some mentioned, I'm less concerned about our 3rd string RT looking like a 3rd stringer and more concerned about our starting Guards also looking like 3rd stringers...
I'm concerned about both. That 3rd stringer is essentially a 2nd with Lucas' status unclear. I'm also worried about our 2nd string, essentially starting LT. He sucked before his exit.

Could we trade for Taylor Moton? He's a 30-year-old on the team undergoing the league's most hopeless rebuild, and as much as I like Lucas, I've lost nearly all faith that he'll ever be healthy again.
