Hello Die Hards
I'm new to the forum but a very long time fan. I live in Jersey and want some feedback in regards to going to the NFCC game or Super Bowl. I feel confident about going the distance this year. I have been visiting Seattle every year for a game for the past 15 years and always brag about the atmosphere and experience to all my Jet and Giant friends as they drag me to games.
So here are the options
Spend 4-5 days is Seattle and go to the NFCC Game or go to the Super Bowl. The cost for both would be close to the same. I am having a hard time getting real excited to go to MetLife considering the cost and seat selection.
Thanks for any advise

You only play one championship game in your stadium. NFCCG is my vote, because you are with all the seahawk fans, enjoy the city, the party and excitement. I know everyone talks about being at the super bowl buts it's a neutral site and caters to corporate America... The game to be with Seahawk fans is the NFCCG! Never can you get that experience in your stadium! I missed out in 2005 and went to Detriot and was a mistake (win or lose). Be with your fellow seahawk "fanatics". Cya in Seattle brother... I am leaving Friday and staying with my brothers all week!

I agree; NFCCG. The atmosphere will be way more electric before, during and after since you'll be in a sea of drunken 12's spilling out into the streets for a long Saturday night of partying and celebration. In NJ? A lot of whatever-AFC-team-that-makes-it fans and some indifferent glad-handers just there for the social/business prestige. The biggest celebration there would be the confetti shower you'd get to watch from the stands. Wheeee. And you're still in New Jersey. (no offense)

If anything, come here just for the CLink experience and being surrounded by crazy fans that will high-five you everywhere you go.

If (when) the Hawks make it to the NFCCG, that's the game you go to. Not trying to be a Debbie downer, but reagardless of what we would like to think, it's not a given that the Hawks make it to the Super Bowl. Don't take a chance on things out of your control. If they make the NFCCG, go and have the time of your life. Would hate to wait for the Super Bowl, and the unthinkable happens.

Just my :twocents:

I live in NJ and going to the 2005/2006 NFC Championship game in Seattle was the best weekend of my life. If you have to pick one I would do that.

For me, that's a really hard question. I went to both in 2006-- there is nothing like the atmosphere of going to the NFC championship game and being surrounded by 67,000 seahawks fans compared to about 5,000 fans at the Super Bowl. You will have a better time in Seattle especially if we are beating up on San Fran. That being said, Im probably going to be different then everybody else If I had to pick one I'd go to the Super Bowl. I've waited 35 yrs to see them win it and I'm not going to miss it.
Think of where the seahawks are at, very good team built to stay that way for a couple of yrs.Since your from nj, and the Super Bowl is in your own backyard you can save money, no hotel and airfare so this might be the cheapest Super Bowl you'll ever get to go to. And as long as the patriots don't make it you will probably get a ticket for under $2,000.

If success is measured by a ring, the players want it and the die hard fans want to be there!

Gotta go with NFC Championship. The atmosphere in that stadium and around the stadium, the city etc. that day and leading up to it is hard to explain. Watching your team make it to the Superbowl is huge.

I'm from So Cal and I went to both the NFCC and Super Bowl in 2006. NFCC was one of the top 5 best days of my life. Will definitely have more fun coming to Seattle. That said, FDNYHAWK makes some good points above seeing that the game is in your back yard. Either way, represent!

I was in the same situation (I live in PA) and posed a similar question to the board a few weeks ago. I ended up deciding to go to the NFC Championship based on the feedback and the price difference. Delta had flights from PHL to SEA for only $250, using hotel points for lodging and purchased tix off of vivid seats (~$440 per including fees). All in all, much cheaper than the SB would have cost me. Unbelievable how a cross country trip like this will be that much cheaper plus the atmosphere will be unbelievable (especially if it's against the whiners).

Do you want the atmosphere, or do you want the memory of being there when the Seahawks finally lifted the Lombardi for the first time?

I didn't get to go to the NFCCG in 2006, but I was at the Beastquake game. The playoff atmosphere at CLink has to be experienced to be believed.

NFCCG. No brainer.

Even if I win the season ticket lottery for Super Bowl tickets I dont think I am going..Ive arranged the time etc...but I have a feeling I would enjoy it more on a giant HDTV where I want to be.. with people I want to be with. The Super Bowl looks to be an uptight experience, over the top security and rules.. possibly bad seats, likely non-real fans next to you... meh...

I've been to games in the KingDome. Never been to c-link or a Super Bowl. I would take the 4/5 days in Seattle for the NFC title. Just me but it wouldn't even be thought about twice.

njhawk....Ask yourself, Do you want "bragging rights" or do you want to have an "out of your mind" experience? If it's the latter, then come to Seattle! :thirishdrinkers: :thirishdrinkers: :0190l: :0190l: :0190l:

I know alot of people who were at the NFC Championship vs Panthers but no one who was at the Super Bowl. I'm going to the Super Bowl if they go - obviously I'd prefer it was someplace warm but living in NYC area - how can u not go if the Hawks are there (if u can afford it) . Just my two cents.

Plus u get to see Bruno Mars. I kid, I kid.
