We've returned to the playoffs every year after appearing in a Superbowl. No curse for us. Of course, the Steelers didn't make the playoffs the year after XL, and I remember a lot of folks here saying something like, "The Curse knows who really won"

This is what i love about Pete Carroll!!! Mike Holmgren could never get over the 10AM starts, but to this team, traveling to the east coast and starting at 10AM means nothing!

I remember Harbaugh's first year in SF, he had 2 east coast games and was so worried about it that he kept the team on the east coast for the entire week and a half.

That Super Bowl Loser stat, which has been fairly accurate, doesn't apply to Pete Carroll's Seahawks.

But one contributing factor for not returning is fatigue. All those extra games, a long season. But Pete prepares his team, he stays true to "Win Forever" by playing the long game, taking care of his players when they're injured, resting the older players, but mainly, having a young team that recovers quickly is so important.

Go Hawk! Love you Pete! :th2thumbs:

Not sure your post is reflective of the OPs intent.

It is difficult to make it back. Stats suggest it, for a variety of reasons. Shows how special this group is. Even then, the odds they overcame this year to go 10-6 and make it back.

Those stats are pretty stupid to be honest. Just because other teams failed to make the playoffs doesnt mean jack shit. Hawks proved all that BS to be untrue.

Those stats are conventional wisdom, Hawks have broken all those conventional stuff long ago when Pete drafted tall CBs, and started a 5'11 Wilson over a highly touted free agent in Matt Flynn.

Thanks, Si; you understood the OP correcttly.

It is indeed hard to make it back for a number of reasons: the mental-focus of the losing team's disappointment coupled with the typical loss of expensive free agents, shorter off-season, etc.

But this team isn't affected by those hits, it seems. I'd love to know more reasons why this seems to be the case for PC's teams.
