I will happily and freely admit I wanted John gone years ago.

I and others felt, with reason, that many things of the team were failing and not being addressed with the Oline being a major one of them and some of the asinine trades the team has made over the years.

This past offseason I was positive on the DK and Geno trades but felt that JS was once again failing to address his biggest weakness, the Oline, in free agency. His comments the previous year that interior linemen are overpaid and drafted too early still ringing in many fans years after a decade of ineptitude at the position.

This draft I was nervous.

After the dust settled I think John dusted off whatever made him great in those first five years as our GM and locked in. This draft was more than a knock out, it was probably one of the best drafts Seattle ever had.

The team didn’t just get good players, they didn’t just get great value at who and where they drafted. For the first time Seattle drafted 11 guys I feel like could not only all stay on the team but contribute now.

Zabel was a lock and he’s gonna help change the culture of our offense line, Emmanwori, seen as a Top 15 talent at 35 is once again another player that is gonna change the attitude on defense and make it nasty. Arroyo, a fringe 1st round talent when healthy is a machine TE that greats immediate mismatches. Milroe, though raw in some aspects, has immense athleticism and could be molded into a better QB and better an X factor.

Without going through every pick, those ones alone do so much for the team and the rest are just an awesome group of young men that are high on athleticism, high ceiling of development, and many are diamonds that were overlooked due to previous injury concerns or character issues.

Seattle saw that, saw the talent, and Mike and John said “Get me than man.”

I have never been so excited for a draft class. Is it September yet?

I honestly believe now that Pete is gone and with John probably feeling the slightest bit of heat given his track record of not addressing immediate needs the last few drafts I think he listened to the people this draft and instead of getting cute and/or trying to think they are outsmarting the other GMs they hunkered down and drafted positional needs.

For years the fans were clamouring for building the trenches and inevitably Pete and John tried to relive/rebuild what made them great many years ago with building from the outside in and hoping they hit on a athletic freak or 2 in the late rounds. Thank god Mike Mac is here that’s all I can say.

I’ve been skeptical…always a familiar feeling as the draft approaches.

I now believe JS and MM just pulled off the best damn draft they could possibly muster.

I LOVE each and every pick. Martinez…I wasn’t so sure about with K9, Charb, and K-Mac already on the roster but…he has a real chance to be special.

Call me crazy if you want to…but Milroe will be starting by ‘27. We don’t even have to mention his running… if you let that overshadow his passing ability, I understand. He’s got a gotdamn cannon.

A+. I expect all of them to make our roster.

I’ve always had ‘average’ interest post draft. Usually it was limited to bitching about taking Collier over Sweat…that lil WR over Creed…or, on a positive note, watching K9 highlights over and over. That type of vibe..

I’ve been YouTubing my arse off. Non-stop reading articles and profiles…watching combine highlights again and again.

What a beautiful time to be a 12.

I will admit I was so nervous from when I saw "the pick is in" at 18 to when they announced Zabel. I would have been good if we went Golden or Campbell to but still had some fear we'd do somthing else. I shouldn't have that fear actually. Going back to 2022 we had done the logical thing in Round 1 for the past 3 years. I gotta stop thinking about stuff like the Collier and Penny years.

I truly believe that John knew damn well his job was on the line this year. He was locked in and hyper focused, and it showed.

Excellent draft (we assume).

I like John. Always have. He seems like a down-to-earth dude you could have beers with and shoot the shit. And yes, count me as one who thinks he’s underrated and under appreciated overall as a GM. Yes, yes, he’s swung and missed many times but show me a GM who hasn’t?

Good for him. Good for us.

JS proved this weekend he's still a top GM in the league. Best part is he is working well with MM. You can tell these two get each other and push each other. Time will tell on this draft class but as of right now. The players, the value it's exciting. If the drafts going forward are anything like this one then we're back. I said somewhere else. We have a ton of cap next year, very few holes. We can get to where the Eagles are and just draft what falls to you rather than reach for a specific need. As an organization, that's where you strive to be and after this past weekend, we are close.

Flowers for John at the ready once the o-line is a bonafide top 15 unit.

Because you can't win a SB without one.

This season may go well or may not, hard to say but one thing for sure.. going to be interesting as hell with all the change this team has been through since last season.
