I was talking PNW sports with an buddy from Oregon and we stumbled onto what I think is a good question; what is your biggest moment as a fan in Seattle pro sports history? For us, it came down to 2 games: Superbowl 48 or Game 5 of the 1995 ALDS. I guess it's a little age dependent, but when I really thought about it, the answer was the '95 Mariners ALDS Game 5 and it really wasn't all that close. Yeah, I was outside of my mind ecstatic after we won our Lombardi *cough*shouldhavbeenoursecondtrophy*cough*. But for me, the '95 Mariner season build up, almost losing the team, the vote for the new ballpark, the one game playoff with the Angels, going down 0-2 to the Yanks in the ALDS and then the 3 game rip in the Kingdome culminating in Game 5 was/is pretty hard to beat.

No wrong answers here, just curious. What say you?

(Mods: feel free to move, was just curious what most Seahawks first guys/gals thought on this question)

No Superbowl win or Mariner's world series will take the spot of Largent's 100th Touchdown.

As far as in person, been to a lot of the historic moments.
Game 5 vs. the Yankees or The Tip are probably my favorite moments in person.
Went to 49, while the ending sucked, it was a great bucket list experience.
Was at the 1 game playoff vs. the Angels. Game 7, Sonics vs. Utah to make the finals was incredible. Never heard the Key that loud, holy hell.
Beastquake and the SB clinching TD both in my end zone was pretty amazing. Not The Tip level, but pretty damn cool.

Seeing Largent lay out that pos, Mike Hardin in person was something I'll never forget. The Kingdome went nuts. Next level.
Also, I happened to be at the Felix perfect game, just incredible. Random weekday game we decided to go to. I believe at the time, it was only the 27th perfect game in MLB history.

Working in Seattle, the build up to that NFC Championship around town was insane. I would walk around on lunch break just to check out all the signs everywhere. The entire city was fired up for that game. Several buildings and construction sites decked out in Hawks colors. T-Mobile headquarters in Factoria all in Hawks blue. And it turned to be maybe the best battle they've ever had. Two best teams in football by far, imo. I think the Niners would have smoked Denver too, have always thought that.
Walking down to the stadium every day to take photos, getting shots of the field and all that. What a memory. Seeing that game winning play will be etched in my mind forever. And the view I had happened to be perfect. Very grateful.

I went to the Supreme Court tribute game his first start after the perfect game. The whole stadium had on a Felix shirt and a K card. I had seats up in the top of the top bleachers cause I got my tickets last second. Let’s just say it as a nice view. The whole stadium was emotional. It was really cool. Felix was like a family member

No doubt. He had an amazing connection with the fans. That guy had the worst run support in the history of baseball. You NEVER heard one complaint from him. Total class, total team player, and one hell of a pitcher. We used to call it "guaranteed win night" when he would pitch.
Even if it wasn't, it felt like it. Just like when Randy would take the mound.

Agree. What a memory. Nice write.

Everything about that game. The buildup, like you said. The HATED 49ers. PC vs. Harbaugh. LOB. Marshawn. The crowd.

Like you, I had no fear whatsoever of whoever came out of the AFC. This was the SB game to me.

You were AT that game!?!? Holy sh*t, I can only imagine what the Kingdome was like. EVERYONE knew the backstory between Largent and Harden and even at home watching on TV we had our eyes glued to those two. I was like 11 or 12 and I went straight jacket padded room nutz when Largent brought the lumber on Harden. MAN, to have actually been there for it. I'd trade just about anything to have been present for that moment, too cool.

I told a dejected 9er fan friend of mine the championship game WAS the superbowl. If SF had beaten us and went up against Denver, it may have been a bigger slaughter than even we laid on the Donks.

I was at the NFCCG when we beat the 9ers to go to the BIG SHOW and ultimately destroyed the Broncos.

I live out of market in Texas and only make one or two games a years.
I feel blessed as a 12 to have been at this game live, I truly appreciate the experience and fully believe that this moment was even a better “fan” experience than if I had been in NYC for the SB win.
Being in Seattle to witness the moment first hand will probably never be exceeded for me on a personal level.

The after party with the folks I was with made the experience amplified x100.

I’ll NEVER forget that feeling.

I can even explain in words how electric the air was when we all finally left the stadium and walked towards downtown.
our group stopped at a few locations to have a beverage, if you weren’t there for the event it’s impossible to explain how the atmosphere was.

Maybe not a humongous moment historically, but one of my favorite moments was Russ’ rookie year playing the patriots and he put up a bomb down the seam to Sydney Rice who laid out for it a caught it sliding into the end zone to win the game.

And that catch reminded me of Josh Gordon’s diving fingertip grab. One play put him in to Seahawks history
