The Seattle Seahawks shocked the football world this week by announcing the signing of legendary waterboy Hydro “Splash” McHydration to a four-year deal reportedly worth “two Gatorade coolers and unlimited sideline nachos.” Team officials say McHydration brings “elite hydration instincts,” a lightning-quick cup-filling release, and a 40-yard dash time that analysts describe as “surprisingly fast for a guy carrying six squeeze bottles and a towel.” Head coach praised the move, noting that Splash “never drops a bottle, always keeps the bench hydrated, and has a career-high electrolyte efficiency rating.”

Fans are already buzzing about how McHydration might fit into the Seahawks’ system. Insiders say the team may even develop a “hydration package” where Splash sprints onto the field between plays to deliver perfectly chilled beverages to exhausted players. While critics claim the move is unconventional, the Seahawks front office insists they’re thinking long-term. “You can’t win championships if your players are thirsty,” one executive explained. “This guy has been dominating the hydration game for years. Frankly, we’re surprised other teams didn’t try to sign him first.” Rumor has it McHydration’s first request after signing was simple: a custom jersey, number H2O.

I'm not saying we don't need quality H2O boys - I'm just saying we want the proper staff to make sure it is handled as it should be.

Honestly, if we had to address the position in FA, I would've preferred a short term, incentive laden, team friendly contract with the option for an option at the end of every year. We all know what Splash brought to his team last year, but now there's another year of film out on his tendencies and we're putting a lot of stock in his contract year performance. I question if he'll be able to maintain this level of production. On top of that, there's the question of team fit. Do our guys really prefer chilled beverages? Are chilled beverages really the best scheme of beverages? I once knew a guy who was loosely acquainted with a guy who drank a cold beverage and got a cramp. He had to sit down for several minutes. Our team's championship window is now and the more time we spend sitting, the less time we'll spend championshipping.

Overall, hydration specialists seem to be a dime a dozen and we could easily get similar production from someone in the draft. (I personally really like what I've seen from Liquid McLectrolyte out of Oklahoma. Ultimately, this signing is just a questionable decision altogether from JS. I'll happily eat crow if I'm wrong. Until then, I'll respond to people who disagree with me about this with laughing emojis and memes.

(For the love of God, please tell me I don't need /sarcasm here lol)
