They finished March playing .500 ball. Let's see how they do in April. It's a long season.

How does MLB work again?

Oh yeah, they play 162 games. The really good teams win about 6/10 on average, the really bad teams win about 4/10, and all the rest win about 5/10.

Point is it's way too early to get worried

People love to mention that there's 162 games, it's a long season, etc, but at the end of the season it can all be decided by one game. Every game matters. Digging a hole early doesn't help us later, it just leaves us wondering "what if our hitters were at least replacement-level to start the season?"

Raleigh doesn't surprise me at all. I'll tell anyone and their grandma that I doubt he ever hits 35 hr in a season ever again, and that he'll probably never be a plus hitter again. Julio isn't *surprising* but because it's so consistent I don't think we'll ever reach a world series with him on our roster. We need to find an upgrade and move on.

Sorry, what? We need to find an upgrade to Julio? Good luck. The only outfielder in baseball that had a higher WAR than Julio last year was Aaron Judge.

Now, I'm not saying that WAR is the end all be all, but I do think it's an awfully strong indicator that Julio is a pretty damn good player overall, and would be very hard to replace with an upgrade.

I'm not expecting Houston's injury luck to repeat itself this year.

Any day now that you three want to wake up at the plate -- please, feel free! (And when all three finally do so, it's KICK-ASS time!)

Kyle Schwarber has more strikeouts (32) than Cal (30).

The Blue Jays, Red Sox, and Phillies all have a worse record than we do. All were in the playoffs last year.

Baseball is weird.
