Who are some Seahawks which you whiffed on, in terms of production and play? Players whom you thought would tear the league apart, but soon became a pine-riding, shirt-lifter?

The most glaring and obvious one was/is Rick Mirer. He displayed flashes of that clutch gene we now see with RW3, his rookie year. Then, nothing, nada.

I was always excited for Jordan Kent...I really thought he could be a dynamic stretch the field guy. But, he was simply too raw.

Yours?

Anthony Simmons. His first few seasons were pretty good and he looked like he was ready to take the next step and become a Pro Bowler, but his career fell apart after he signed his 2nd contract and he was out of the league two years later.

Deion Branch. I was absolutely positive he was the last piece to take our offense over the top in 2006. *sigh*

Amazingly I looked at that less "Branch Sucks" and more "Brady's underrated...".

I feel ya though, I dug the move.

If only Jennings was male. Flawless technique, no wasted motion, always in a position to defend the pass.

Kelly Stouffer. Dan McGwire. Rick Mirer. Between those 3 absolute whiffs we were set up for a decade of bottom-dwelling. They not only failed expectations, they drug down the whole organization with them. At least they killed the season ticket queue so I could spend Sundays in the 90s in the Kingdome!

Brock Huard counts. To this day the best practice balls ever thrown belong to him, I'm sure. He was right up there with Jeff George in terms of god-given talent.

Closer than you think...
Mirer, Bosworth, McGwire and Curry. Mirer probably is the worst considering the season we had before we got him. Had we only lost to NE that year we would have gotten Drew Bledsoe.

Matt Hasselbeck

Just stop.

Calm down chief, it's relative disappointment. When Holmgren first traded for Hass I had faith that he was the next great QB. After all, this was the guy that coached Montana, Young, and traded for and coached up Favre. Hass was a good QB for a long time, but he never met my expectations for greatness.

Hass, while good, was the least of Holmgrens successes.

Hass was hindered by Holmgren, IMO. Hass has always been better suited to read then throw, rather than drop and throw to a spot. He did well in Tenn using his IQ and exploiting his WR match-ups.

Holmgren coached defensive mismatches, not players.
