It's a steep price for a rental at a position we don't need. Sure, we aren't forced to re-sign him, but it looks like a foolish trade if we don't, or if he doesn't perform at a level where we'd want him back.
Why not use one of those picks to trade for an upgrade at C or RG, and the other pick to bolster the WR group?

Too much risk, not enough reward.

Spot on man. That’s what I was saying earlier.

Boneheaded move by Schneider

You guys are fricken whiners. Dayum.
Give the dude a damn chance and stop bitching about JS for one day. This team is 6-2, tied for first, on the rise, and you're pitching a hissy fit over a trade that could turn out to be a good one.

Edit: sorry man, that sounded extra grumpy. Go Hawks

Anywhere we can add some depth is a good thing in my mind.

If it doesn't work out your right it'll be a bummer not to have those picks. It's a bit more than I would have anticipated but obviously there was competition to acquire him.
I don't agree we have no need for another WR though.

"Hope" being key here, but... looking at my glass half-full 'til someone actually grabs it and dumps its contents -- and maybe nobody ever will. KICK-ASS signing with KICK-ASS long-term ramifications possibility remains alive:

People don't understand comp picks a lot of times but NFL GM's do and you better believe those play into these types of negotiations. Rashid if left to hit free agency likely qualifies for a 4th or 5th round comp pick, and potentially even a 3rd. Worst case this is basically just a 4th OR a 5th if it truly ends up being "just a rental" because of the likely comp pick. If he's good enough they want to sign him long term I don't think anyone will be complaining about a 4th AND a 5th...

That would make sense if we got what we asked for and still complained. When we don't get what we need, it's a valid complaint.

Would you be calling us whiners if we traded a 4th and a 5th for a backup QB? Of course not, because you know it would be a bone headed move that we don't need.

Wasn’t sure if we needed another WR b/c too many options in the past causes dysfunction.

Yet, Shaheed is a great fit because he’s a team guy that just works and doesn’t seem like he had a big time diva ego thats going ruin chemistry. Kubiak already knows who he is and how to use him and he basically comes off as a young Tyler Lockett. The dude can fly and play anywhere and on ST. And having a guy with feared ability that can take the top off the D either is going to help the run game get better by forcing teams out of the box or improve this already elite deep passing game even more so.

Shaheed is #2 option for the Saints but has better stats than DK.

Not worried about the cost given up, it always sucks to give up more than less, however Seahawks retained 11 rookies from this last class on its active roster w/ Mills on PUP to make it 12 plus another 8-9 rookies on it’s practice squad most notably Pooh Paul, JR who could have a future. Thats a pretty good draft class haul and should help gloss over the loss of picks in ‘26.

We just lost 3 WR in one week (Kupp, Bobo, and Young) and were already considered thin at the position. How are you comparing that to a backup QB?

My point went over your head completely. Please reread what I wrote.

What point were you trying to make?

'Cause all I saw was basically :

"Ungah Bungah...Rashid bad....oogah boogah"

You are not getting an upgrade at C or RG with one of those picks. There isn't enough quality OL to go around the league (and this is before injury-related needs at teams like LAC, DET, etc.) I don't think a single one of the trades has involved an OL, let alone a quality starter.

Right? Holy fock. Any logical person looks at the roster and thinks, "They're forked if JSN gets hurt." You just got yourself insurance to prevent an injury from derailing the season. You were missing speed over the top, and now you have three receivers who just missed the last game. And you're stressing over a fifth-round pick for a guy with proven value? We're in the middle of a magical season, and you don't even realize it.

this thread reminds me of another thread that was calling into question if JSN was even a worth picking after his rookie year. It's not going to age well.

I’m usually not an Eeyore type guy but, while I won’t say this is a bad trade, we’re pretty stacked weapon wise.

I’m going to disregard Kupp…it is what it is…but, do we not think Horton will develop into a #2? What about Arroyo…Barner?

The counter is we have another threat to take heat off of JSN. in my opinion, that already existed before this trade.

Are we sure we re-sign him?

Any LB’ers or RG’s available?

Not sure I’m feeling this as much as I would with another LB or Guard coming on board. But, I also don’t know who is/is not available for those positions.

Solid player…but can’t give this anything higher than a C. 🤷

I’d upgrade this to a B, B+ if a new deal is worked out. Now, that would be a solid trio of WRs..

How are so many people not seeing WR as a position of need?

Did we not see Ricky White the 2nd out there Sunday?

Not every team is going to have corpses in the secondary like the Commanders. Just because it worked Sunday doesn't mean we are fine

So you know there was a c and rg available ??? Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe any of those have been on the move today. (Took a brief hiatus from checking due to other commitments) Like they’re upgrading where they can with what is available. Guaranteed y’all would be losing it if they overpaid for a mediocre guard or centre. JS upgraded the Oline with Zabel in the draft and I’m sure he’s looking at all the holes. Unfortunately he can’t just trade for whoever the fans want, the other teams have to make those guys available.
