Seahawks Trade for NO WR Rashid Shaheed

Poor trade. Typical BS Schneider move, going all in before the hand is even dealt.

Shaheed has hands of stone and bones of glass. This reminds me of Galloway returning in the 99 season, ruining that team’s chemistry.

A 4th and a 5th for an average WR who is a free agent at the end of the year. I really don't like the deal. This version of the team was built by the draft.

Shaheed is top 20 in receptions and top 25 in receiving yards this season, and that was on a team with a bottom 5 offense and Spencer Rattler at QB averaging less than 200 passing yards per game.

Considering the fact that there are 32 teams, and every one of those teams has at least 4-5 WR's, I'd say being a top 20-25 WR in the league is above average, and quite frankly, WAY above average.

I think he is here to take some of the reps off of JSN and to put a combo of JSN and Shaheed on the field as well as Horton in a trip package as well as Kick returns.

JSN is tough but he is taking a lot of shots, long term you want him to get breathers also without tipping your hand, this guys helps with that.

I am no football talent evaluator but we already have a couple of fast receivers in Horton and Cody White. they both took it to the house on Sunday,
I think we are paying too much for another fast receiver ! who is coming in if an O lineman goes down ?

I think most if not all 32 teams are very reluctant to trade and part ways with any offensive lineman now. Even if they are not starters, offensive lineman depth is very difficult to come by and no team wants to lose whatever it is they have. I don’t think Seattle would get any offensive lineman during this deadline. They are too valuable.

I can not praise this move enough… we just got one of the fastest WRs in the NFL (to pair with one of the other fastest WRs in the NFL in JSN) on an expiring rookie deal…

You probably didn’t notice - go back and look at Week 1 to Week 4 under Kubiak’s system in New Orleans last year and look at his stats before all the injuries decimated the Saints last year:

Week 1 @ Dallas: 4 catches, 96 yards, 1 TD
Week 3 @ Atlanta: 8 catches, 83 yards
Week 4 vs New York Giants: 4 catches, 114 yards, 1 TD.

Sam Darnold is about to be even further unlocked. Safeties will not be able to come up - ever. His speed and downfield concepts will force defenses to respect him every snap he’s out there. Think of him as a budget cap friendly replacement for what Metcalf gave us. It will open up the middle of the field for more in breaking routes to JSN, Horton, Arroyo, Barner, etc…

I also think this is going help open up the run game as we get into the cold/late season for a bonus.

A cap friendly, non punitive big swing to boost our offense into contention time. I could not love this any more.
