A little weird to think of Darnold, Lock, or Milroe in a Seahawk jersey and hoisting the Lombardi, but I'm sure I can get used to it.

Seeing “Jones” on the nameplate of our LT sets the bar pretty high.
*day dreaming of Walter Jones pancakes*

I cannot begin how much I love the prospects of having a solid running game to facilitate the offense.

Our lineman have been playing with direction and purpose… we haven’t seen that in a loooooooong time.

It's a fine line between being critical of the Front Office and acting like you should be the one in charge. Absolutely nothing wrong with voicing opinions on deals or non-deals. The 24/7 bashing of every last thing they do and/or assuming the worst EVERY time gets old.
Assumptions are not facts. We will never truly know what goes on behind closed doors, period. It's fun to speculate though.
I have some strong opinions including that JS is a moron but I’ll be hopeful until proven I should not be hopeful.
But as to roster spots once Geno was gone my list of people I wanted off my team was left with one idiotic GM.

With Charles Cross still out with the finger injury, Josh Jones started at left tackle with the other starters in the first two preseason games, and he played pretty well. (73.0 on PFF)

Not sure what people were complaining about when we signed him, as a backup, for a reasonable amount. He's an improvement over Stone Forsythe, who he replaced. Jones did start at left tackle for the Cardinals, so he's got some experience and he's still young.
Most of the complaints were because he wasn't a FA OG that needed a $10m+++ contract. Basically, "WTF are we geting another backup T for?".

Re-signs on a one year deal. Feel like this is hugely under rated. Helped us through the Cross injury big time and can supposedly play RT too if Lucas gets hurt.
You're right. This will be an under the radar signing, but an important one. Quality swing tackle!

I had to admit, I was a bit surprised when I saw this thread and I was like "Huh?" until I saw it was an old thread.

Josh Jones did an admirable job filling in for Cross when he got hurt.

So re-signing him is no small thing.

Depth is not bad to have but the Seahawks really need to swing for the fences for an OL for a change.
Ifedi and Zabel. I was surprised at how lackluster Ifedi was, but given our bad luck with the OL, I was even more surprised at how great Zabel has been. There has to be some sort of rookie award for him.

Nice. He's a pretty good backup. I was hoping they would keep him.

Anyone else first thought 5 pages of comments for Jones was dang more please like or hate this guys then Jobe or K0...

Then read OP's comment and thought man this guys is upset at a 1 year deal for Jones and at John for a 1 year deal...

Then to finally realize this first started last year (2025) when no one knew who he was and was like oh man I'm stupid.

Or was that just me?

Continuity on the OL is so important that now they're extending backups. :)
