Or, Fraley wasn't the top choice because he didn't want to leave Detroit. He'd be an idiot not to interview, but if he told the Seahawks that it would be hard to pull his family away from where they've put down roots, then he wouldn't have been the top choice. That fits Kubiak being the top choice as well as Mrs. Fraley's comment that it was their choice not to come here.

Or, as Macdonald seems to do, he tells you what he wants you to hear. He backed Grubb all season long, even after he fired him. I certainly don't expect him to say "oh, yeah, we settled for Kubiak".

Or Kubiak was the target and Fraley was the guy they wanted for the line with a caveat as Run Game coordinator.

It’s actually a pro style, turn key system for a guy like Geno Smith to step into. I sniff 12 wins minimum guaranteed

There is a good chance NO cuts him. He knows the offense and is far better than Geno when healthy. Cut Geno, draft a QB to learn from Carr this season.
Love the idea of drafting a qb if one falls right, but Carr ? Nah. Carr = Geno 2 : The Horror Continues. You will have good play and then throw an INT that boggles the mind. He is just another tease, just like Geno. And they will probably want a crapload of money. See if they can trade Geno and a pizza to the Raiders for O'Connell even.

What Geno is going to step into I don't want to sniff. His decision making really frustrated me this season. I do hope you're right and I'm just being difficult.

Guys come on…
We may have declined the other candidates a week ago because we agreed with Kubiak but he had to set up his team first. Maybe Fraley just accepted the small promotion in Detroit as a result? Why does it always have to be the negative and bad version for our FO?
Im starting to feel like im in a German soccer board

Kubiak started the season really well but then regressed. Was it just injuries on the saints roster or something else? Anyway he does seem like a creative guy. So I’m anxious to see what he brings to the table.

You actually think Derek Carr is better than Geno? That is flippin hilarious.

I thought the same but man when you look at their stats it’s a lot closer than many in here would want to admit. It surprised me a little. IMG 7907

I hope this is a good hire and am willing to give him time to get his system up and running, but this is a bit concerning:

Kubiak 2024

I get that there were a lot of injuries but the fact that he left after one year is troubling.

I can’t wait to see what he can do!

Honest question though..

Why does a guy make a lateral transfer like this? Did we more than likely offer way more money? I could see if we had a young, talented QB who could propel Klint to a HC job in short order but we obviously don’t.
Seafood. Our seafood is better. He has acid reflux and couldn’t handle New Orleans spicy food.

I'm not interested in Carr because I think he's breaking down physically, but arent he and Geno quite similar in style and strengths? They seem to excel at the same things. I'll bet if both started a full season for the average team, those teams would end up in roughly the same spot, with any differences in record a matter of individual variance.

I’m optimistic about it. When he had his pieces they did a lot of cool things. No OC in the league can turn terrible personnel into a really good offense and he lost nearly everyone for a large portion of the season.

He also does all the stuff people got pissed at Grubb for not doing.

Let’s give the guy a shot

The Saints fired their HC during the season as a result he was looking for a new opportunity since the new coach, whomever it is, may want to bring in his own staff.

Not my favorite choice but I trust MM. I just hope something changes in the OL process. Scouts evaluation, JS reluctance, Steve Hutchinson recommendations, coaching development. What ever the problem is!!
The main problem is that they haven't invested in a Chevy Suburban for the o-line to take turns pushing around during the off-season. Like Walter Jones did.

The way I read the summary of his history on .com is that he has been short term everywhere he has been. He's enjoyed some success, to be sure, but for some reason that didn't ever seem to translate into a long run at one location. Is that a good thing?
I think we were forced to settle.
