I think this is just his first formal announcement as lead dog. Makes sense that he updates everyone as to where the org is in the process of hiring, make a statement about Pete being gone, reaffirm the team's commitment to excellence, and answer a few questions... offering little detail in terms of what they're going to do with the HC spot.
