Why am I NOT surprised that Buscuit Bay can't even come on here and crow up. Very likely he is a Niners fan.
If not, and he STILL refuses to give Sam credit? Total coward. I said what I said.
He's waiting for us to lose before he makes an appearance.

If we keep winning, we won't see him again until late in the offseason where he'll come back and say "well....let's see Sam do it again. He won't. He SuCkS aNd SeEs GhOsTs...hurr derp..."

Thanks for bringing us back to this topic.

On a day when the Hawks defense was not able to pressure Stafford, and he was slinging it with precision, it took Sam having an equally fantastic day to win. In what is likely the most impactful game of his (young-ish?) career, he came out a winner.

I hope this shows the naysayers that not only can he do it, he now has done it. No ghosts to see here.

Best game of his career, too. I'm trying to think of mistakes on his part and...

1. The fumble that he didn't lose
2. Sailed that wide-open incompletion to Shaheed
3. That one scary throw that could have been picked

And that's it out of 36 attempts in terms of significant mistakes. Well within the margin for any elite performance from any QB we've ever seen.

I would have been just fine if he'd been quiet and played within himself, letting Walker do the work, like the SF game. Instead we got this.

I wonder if running Walker less and letting Sam throw it more was the gameplan going into the match, or an adjustment. I was under the impression that the Rams DBs were better than the 9ers, but maybe so was their D-line.

The run-game wasn't completely bottled up, but certainly didn't have the success of last week. Is that why Sam took the reigns?

I'm glad he did. It was fun to watch!

For my part, I definitely was under the impression that the 49ers' back seven was better.

Oh look....crickets. EXACTLY what I expected. What a chump.
Isn't this "chump" a Packers fan?

"...till that changes," he said. It did change; big time! It wasn't just a "safe" game-manager-type outing, but he went toe-to-toe, blow-for-blow with the potential MVP in the biggest game of the season (thus far).

You're Hilarious dude. Unlike you I don't spend the majority of my day on .net hanging on Sam Darnolds jock.

Sam has played very well, did exactly what hes expected to do. Manage the game, make the plays and not turn over the ball. He's one game away from completely removing all doubt about him.

Now I have a job to get back to.

Doubt about what? That he can throw the football? That he can play mistake-free? That he can win big games?

If you still have doubt, that's not a SD problem, that's a you problem. And maybe a personal skill issue at knowing how to accept the evidence without bias.

Only a game-manager, huh? At least two of his TDs were under pressure, yet they were perfect strikes. That's not a game-manager, that's high-level play.

It’s interesting to see how the Jets and Vikings are coping. Jets fans are happy Darnold is finding success now and majority understand it is their franchise that ruins players, and Vikings fans, I would say are more angry about Darnold leaving them. Jets nation aren’t as upset cause they know their organization is bottom cellar trainwreck but Vikings fans are more so of the their franchise made a horrible decision.

The dynamic is interesting.

All Hail, the Legend of John Schneider!

A lot of people are forgetting (or don't know) that the Vikings did make an offer to Darnold and that it wasn't a bad one.

So it was not Minnesota "letting him walk", but their decision to draft JJ McCarthy, that led to Darnold becoming a Seahawk. Sam would have gotten the same money, but he probably didn't want to deal with constant QB controversy, and he knew the Vikings organization would be catching endless pressure from fans to start JJ and avoid having that much draft collateral riding the pine. In Seattle, he'd get the QB job all to himself, based on a (good) bet that Seattle wouldn't draft a QB themselves.

I dunno. It's weird seeing how many Vikings fans are leaving this out of their calculations. The Vikings just got greedy at the position, the writing was kind of on the wall as to who would stick once everything sorted itself out, and it played out in the absolute worst manner possible.

Tell us you didn't watch the game without telling us you didn't watch the game.
Of course I watched it. He did, you know as well as I do everyone was praying he would do what he did and not throw a bunch of picks, or turn it over other ways.

He did what was expected. Like I said, he made the plays and didn't turn it over. You have a problem with that TFB, get over it.

Did you expect it? Somehow, I doubt you did.

Since when is that kind of playoff success "expected"? Everyone hopes their QB plays that well, but what kind of QB has expectations like that? Only the best.

Own up, he's playing like one of the best (compare with Stafford) and may actually be; TBD, of course, with a larger body of work.

And Minny is upset about this? It's not like we put a poison pill in his offer so they couldn't counter...

The Vikings offered him a one year deal. The Seahawks offered a 3 year deal. They are not comparable. Yes, I know the Seahawks contract has an out after two years. But that's still different than a one year deal while they groom his replacement.
