Technically, he was 0-1 with 1 TD and 1 pick but I digress....

Narratives suck ass.

I fully expect Sam to go 1-1 after next week so this sh*t will end (but it probably won't because the goal-posts will continue to be moved)

Wow, 6 sacks and 159 yards yesterday. It'd be 100% disingenuous if the media doesn't take him out of the "elite" QB tier and put him in that "Darnold" tier. He should have been there last year after 4 INTs against Houston.

Sam is getting held to a far higher standard than any QB out there and that's the bottom line.

I don’t think that is true

Darnold has to show he can win big games and the playoffs. He won the last 2 big games. Now is the playoffs test.

I don’t think that’s too much to ask. It applies to everyone that is good

Frankly, he has to win this game to get rid of the question.

Dude has played in ONE playoff game. People up in here acting like he has a long history of playoff losses
1) it doesn’t matter how many, he still has to win one to show he can do it
2) He looked so bad on that game that his own team didn’t want to pay enough to bring back their pro bowl QB. That’s why people are questioning.

And when he does, then it'll be CAN HE WIN 2?
Or......he only won because of the Defense. Come on, let's be real here.
The constant Sam whining is really getting annoying.

Yes and no. He DOES need to show in the playoffs obviously to really shake that label. However, it was reported that he did receive a one-year contract offer from Minnesota at the same money Seattle offered, but Seattle offered a multi-year contract (without a rookie itching to go behind him). Aside, Kevin O'Connell failed Darnold in that playoff game because he failed to adjust the offense against that ferocious Rams rush and the depleted OL. All the routes stayed long-developing.

Sam has the opportunity to prove his doubters wrong in 5 days. I think we all hope he does.
Sounds better to me than the Seahawks losing.

But yeah, Kevin O'Connell isn't the reason Sam fumbled for a return TD. And yes, there will still be a question of whether he can win a SECOND game, and then a THIRD game. Because that's kind of what you have to do to win a Super Bowl. Unless you think it's awarded via a backroom game of Majong somewhere.

Y'all act like there was no reason at all for the skepticism. Sam was so far back in the prove-it process. Succeed generally in the postseason, win big divisional games, win a playoff game, win multiple playoff games, win THE game. When we signed him, he had finally, after several years, managed to do the first.

But there's reason for optimism, because this season handed Sam a gauntlet of respectable and in some cases playoff-caliber opponents - including the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the NFC - towards the back end of the season and he put together, or at least stayed out of the way of, a seven-game winning streak. That shouldn't just be ignored.

His offensive line was the reason he fumbled in that game. He made the correct read. QB fumbles are usually their fault, but I don't see it being the case that time.

Everyone needs to chill. We all want the same thing, Seahawks to win the next championship.

Emotions are high right now, and a lot is on the line the next few weeks. Let’s keep it together and focus energy at the 49ers, and keep calm.
If there are any Seahawks players or coaches posting on .net, they should totally get focused on the whiners. The rest of us should have fun arguing with each other about this. :)

My favorite is "We can't get cocky"
Yeah, because fans being cocky somehow impacts the game

WE don't play for the team.

Back in Seattle.
I know the topic is Sam but if Zach and Kenneth do their thing, Sam will have no problem doing his thing. And we know the D will do its thing.

Yep, pound the rock, play killer defense, be smart with the ball. Win

I couldn't give two sh*** what his stats are. Just keep the turnovers down and this is a win.

We knew in the first half that their defense would be toast. That time of possession at the half was insane.
That 8-minute drive was a thing of beauty. So much, the missed fg was a non-factor.

Why don't you try to way til that actually happens. If he does well Saturday people will probably come around.

Why do you let other people's opinions bother you so much?
