I expect a couple of our O-Linemen will take a step forward in the new scheme and new coaching.
Bradford, Haynes, Olu, Laumea, Sundell. Plus maybe a healthy Abe Lucas for more games this year.

If Zabel balls out, and Cross and Lucas stay healthy, and just 2 of those 5 returning OL (that I listed) improve a little, the OL could be decent, maybe even middle of the pack.

I don't like blaming Grubb for so much, but I don't think Grubb was ready to be an NFL OC. Kubiak and a more balanced scheme could work wonders for better OL play.

Sadly for Sam Howell, none of that will help him in Minnesota.

Geno is now QBoTP. That P is for past. At one point from 2022-2024 that P would have represented Present. I'm curious as to what peoples definition of Quarterback of the Future really even means. Sam Howell, by virtue of being younger than Geno, and the backup, was by default last year, QBOTF. Its not a guaranteed slot, more like an assumption. Its such a weird thing that is only used for the QB position. Currently, the Seahawks have three QBs that could be in that QBOTF nonsense. Four if you want to throw in Jaren Hall. If all four of them eventually get snaps in a regular season game, then they are all a QBOTF. For some reason, this QBOTF monicker has taken the place of "franchise QB". And that is what I think most people probably think or wish about a young QB. They hope he will be a franchise type QB. The whole "of the future" crap is just too broad of a label and kind of unfair to whoever is assigned to it. Is Zabel our new LGOTF? No. Hes a guard that we have high hopes for. Emmanwori is not SSOTF, he is a SS. Do we put "OTF" after every position for each draft choice? No! Any QB that might have a chance to play in the future, is by the very definition a Quarterback of the future. We don't know how long that future will last for said QB. It could be one game or ten years.

Now with all that being said, and my general dislike for that acronym, I believe that with the choice of Jalen Milroe, the Seahawks very likely do have a future franchise QB. He is definately a QBOTF because I am 100% certain that at some point he will actually play QB for the Seahawks in a regular season game.

No one has received more crap for being a back up QB. Not sure why he has gotten so much vitriol especially when he cost us what equalled a 6th round pick and we traded him away in a similar type trade.
I'm glad he is gone so we don't have to trash on him anymore.
Now we can move on to our next target. Milroe for some maybe Darnold if he struggles.

No doubt. He didn't do anything to deserve bashing the guy. He came in late in a game that was long since over, a game that Geno was playing like garbage in. Other than that, he never got a shot. I can't remember anyone saying that Howell was the QBOFT, he was signed to be a backup, that's what he was.

I would start by trying to address real needs at least. When you use draft picks for a TE that's made of glass and a QB you hope can be the next Taysom Hill, that's a problem.
