As stated before ; being inducted into the HOF has a lot to do with popularity . Nobody likes Wilson anymore outside his immediate family and a few horse lovers . " Let's Ride " :)

The Hall of Fame will be a joke if they induct DangerPuss. And, no, I don't think they'll do it.

If RW has a great year of play and wins a SB as the starting QB for another team he has a 90% chance. If he does not, his chance drops slightly to ~0.1%.

A lot of induction has to do with legend. Wilson is a legend for some Seattle fans and some traumatized 49ers fans. Other than that he is pretty much a guy who as stated by others was a tag along for our Super Bowl win and the reason we lost one. Not much of a legend there.

His numbers were solid, but most of them were acheived after defenses were neutered by league rules making passing so much easier. Wilson was great at buying time and making a sandlot play. Tarkenton got in off of that, but he also was the driving force for four Super Bowl appearances. Even the Wilson apologists here admit that he was not the driving force for our two appearances. He made some really good deep throws, but a lot of the catches made were better catches than they were passes thrown.

some kind of mass psychosis here to think that he dosent already have the career numbers to get inducted.
Did the dude miss a single game due to injuries during that entire decade?
The value of that alone is immeasurable when you look at what happens to other clubs. History altering injuries and whatnot.
The prime version of him was a cheat code.

Not a chance in hell, when he was with Seattle IMO had a borderline chance since he has left he has been a joke and circus side show not many sports writers will vote for him.

with recent inductee’s Brett Favre and Peyton Manning and future HOF candidates Drew Brees and Tom Brady setting a new bar 80k yards and 500 TDs will be the starting point

Ciara's Hall of Fame?
Will the selling point be, over one ticket sold?

I think RW has a shot of being in the HoF but I do not think he is first ballot. There has been less accomplished and less talented QBs inducted into the Hall. The truth is that winning a SB helps a lot when it comes to QB HoF induction chances.

Each year that goes by, it will be clearer and clearer what a job Carroll did with that defense, trading for Lynch, and managing Wilson.

Wilson lucked out in going to the perfect situation. 2012-2014 Seahawks were an absolute monster that could run the ball and keep games low scoring long enough for Wilson to get his, either with deep throws or big extended mobility plays. Lots of hard fought games in 2016 were barely won in that fashion.

The irony is that the 2020+ Wilson people like to say is a worse QB than his heyday is actually a better QB at reading defenses than the one who played in Super Bowls. It just goes to show you how little he had to do to actually succeed back then. It did take until 2015 I think it was to be able to register his first win when the defense allowed 24+ (Pittsburgh I think it was).

Hasn't won a divisional playoff game since 2014....hard to rationalize that for a HoF player.
