Amen. There were some sorry fans in the game day forum that went beyond saying he was having a bad day. They called him an sob. They called him a game manager. They said this franchise was over when he gets paid. But holy cow, I'm glad the team kept believing more than some of those fans did.

Anybody who has played sports at a high level, can attest to the fortitude/perseverance it takes to rally when you have been at your absolute worst. That is beyond rare (if that's even possible).

We are witnessing, firsthand, perhaps one of the greatest leaders in sports history. I would have loved to have seen a full game, stellar performance by RW, but this finish speaks louder than any other performance possibly could.

Please, please do not forget this performance. This game says more about RW than any other game you have seen or will see. I truly mean that.

The day the Seahawks drafted Russell Wilson, I became a diehard fan of the Seahawks because I'm a diehard NC State fan and he is my favorite player of all time. Since 1995, I've been a fan of the Panthers because they are my hometown team, but since the Seahawks drafted RW, my number one team has been the Seahawks. I've watched most of the Seahawks games and I've followed the team much more closely than any NFL team here at .net and on other forums. Following a team one year before they won the Superbowl, you can call me a bandwagoner, but the reason I've loved the Seahawks and invested so much into them is because Russell Wilson is my favorite player ever, and he represents everything I love in a football player. I became a Wisconsin Badger fan when he went there, now I'm a Seahawk fan.

In all the time that I've watched him, through every game, through every play as a Wolfpacker, a Badger, and a Seahawk, whether the opponent was favored or not, I've never seen him play as poorly as he did the first 56 minutes against the Packers. He was just awful. I doubted. I thought he was done. It hurt so much to see him struggling that I turned off the TV at the 5:06 mark after he threw the interception in disgust. My wife was so mad, she left the room, and I was so mad, I left the house for a little while under the pretext of going to pick up my son at his friend's house, but I was really just trying to clear my head. I turned on the radio on my way and I heard that Seattle had the ball back. I listened as RW ran in the TD to cut the lead to 19-14. I ran in my son's friend's house, where the game was on. Then, I saw the onside recovery. I watched as RW and Beastmode strode into the endzone and through that most-unlikely 2pt conversion. When the game went into overtime, and it was capped off with that most perfect of drives from RW, it was one of the sweetest victories I've ever seen (not topping any of the games in the Wolfpack NCAA 1983 National Basketball Championship run).

What a time to be a Seahawk fan! RW proved his worth by overcoming the worst game of his career, proving the doubters wrong (including me). I should have known, I should have never counted him out, as he's proven doubters wrong throughout his career. Then, seeing him kneeling in prayer, and seeing him give the glory to God with tears streaming down his face...how could anyone pull against this guy ever again!

I think this game showed quite clearly one of the attributes that makes him great, and one of the attributes absolutely essential for a quarterback to have in order to be truly great: in-game amnesia.

Most quarterbacks get mistakes, especially interceptions, in their heads. They remember them, dwell on them, let them affect their play during the game. Wilson threw the first interception toward Kearse and it didn't even faze him. Threw the second one his direction and it didn't even faze him. And again and again.

And still he played like he'd thrown zero interceptions the whole day. Still he threw to Kearse. And when the game was on the line, in overtime, when he really needed a touchdown, he threw to Kearse without a moment's hesitation. Most of the rest of us, and dare I say it most NFL quarterbacks, would have looked the other way and thrown to another receiver. Not Wilson. He didn't remember his interceptions, only saw that Kearse was open for the score. And threw the ball to get the win.

And that's a very important part of why he is a great quarterback.
