Everything you said has been (and will continue to be) said by multiple people ad nauseum on here as well as everywhere else online. I'm as sure of that as I am that I will wake up and take shit tomorrow morning. None of it excuses the fact that it's objectively dumb to Boo the guy your team is paying $50mm per year to to play a sport, as if he's the first player ever to receive an enormous salary.

The man is chillin at a basketball game minding his business and those simple mfers BOOOO as they panned the camera to him. Like, seriously, think about that. Maybe I missed it, but, I don't recall Pissburg fans booing Ben after raping women. Pats fans didn't boo Tom and Bill for all their bullshit. Or any other current players getting boo'd by their current fans. Knwo why? Because it's OBJECTIVELY DUMB. And THAT is the parallel I was drawing between Russ & Prez.

I bet their dumb asses still woke up and spent their hard earned money at Walmart. And they will still pay exorbitant ticket prices to go to a Donkeys game. If they want to boo someone I would think it would be the Waltons and Donkey management. As personally traumatized as some Hawks fans apparently were by Geno's run in with Seattle PD, I bet you none of them are dumb enough to boo him if they see him at an M's or Kraken game, at least I hope not.
I'm not sure why you are surprised. Fans are fanatics and mostly care about winning. If Russell had taken them to the Super Bowl and won, he could have pulled his pants down and urinated on the crowd, and they would have cheered like crazy.

The only thing that has me hesitating from being negatives on Peyton turning the Broncos around is how he navigated a 9-8 year post Brees and also they held their own the year Brees missed a few games in 2019 with Teddy B as QB. And Russ is better than those two QBs
SP evolved as a coach because he started to rebalance the Saints team from being offensive heavy to having a balance of offensive and defensive talent.

In Denver the strength of the team is the defense but they made a lot of splashes in free agency on offense and most of the splashes in the draft were on defense.

I wouldn't call their draft picks defensive splashes. They picked 2 3rd rounders and a 6th rounder for defense. 2nd rounder was a WR and they picked a late round center.

While that is a fair point the point was they focused on defense as these players are going to be developed down the line. So given the little draft capital Denver has to work with that is the best splashes they can make given what they have to work with. Denver's is also a team that can draft defensive contributors in day 2 and day 3. They will have to find a way to develop these players because they will still be in a bind even in 2024 due to salary cap ramifications.

What's the over/under that Coach was showing Tater a live feed of Golden nailing Ciara.

Lol, probably not, but there have been two PR socializations between Russ and Payton. The dinner at the combine with Ciara the only wife present. Now this with only Mrs. Payton present.

Socially awkward for a planned pr opp…

So was this what Ciara was doing, rooting for a Denver potential opponent?

Actually I don't think he will turn it around. Sean P is not a god, he had Brees who was way better than RW's game over the middle, seeing reads, checking down and not trying hero ball.

Just like Belicheat, what has he done since TB left, SP is going to find out the things aren't great because he has ME3 instead of Brees.
You might be right. Whether Payton can fix Wilson is an interesting question to me. Most people seem to think that Sean Payton is a god, or at least an offensive genius, but the Saints' success might have been more Brees than Payton. Back in the early 2000s, I remember the hate that Payton got as OC for the Giants. The team was averaging single digit points (or something like that) and finally Jim Fassel had to take play-calling responsibilities away from Payton. And the Giants did a lot better after that. (At least that's my recollection, sorry I haven't researched this.)

Payton didn't make Jameis Winston into a superstar like it was predicted. And his whole infatuation with Taysom Hill was weird and ultimately unsuccessful. We'll see what happens with him and Russell Wilson.

All this is interesting to debate, but (in my opinion) there are 2 different questions. They're both pretty easy to answer ... at least to me. Answering them separately gives much more insight into Denver's '23 campaign.

Can Payton fix RCW?
I think I'd lean toward yes, he can. I think, if you give Payton 100 teams with 100 different QBs, he could get more than 50 of them to a winning season. We know RCW can play winning football. We know Payton can coach a winning team. Can that happen in Denver in '23? Sure it can.

Will Payton fix RCW?
I feel like this is pretty easy to answer as well. To me, the probability is way below 50%. I think if you add up all the possible reasons their season fails it's easy to predict. Conservatively...Maybe RCW's age -5%, RCW's strength/body/health -5%, RCW's social media distractions -10%, other QB competition -2%, RCW's mental preparedness/toughness -15%, RCW's other businesses creating distractions -%5, Ciara creating drama -5%, RCW trying to be a leader but needing to be a follower (losing the team) -10%, press/media amping up the pressure -10%, lots of tape on both RCW and Payton so just Xs and Os scheming against him -10%.... Make your own list or alter this one and add/delete or assign your own probabilities. I'm sure all of these things won't happen, but I can absolutely see any of them happening. Once it starts to unravel, I can't see a way it would stop. ...so no, Payton won't fix RCW even if it's true that he can.

...hoping for a high 3rd round pick from Denver next year.

i suspect Peyton might have success in initial stage, once Russ felt like he's on track, he might again want to do his own things, in his own ways.
