Russ needs only 103 passing yards to pass Hasselbeck....

I thought he was too short to see over the line. Impressive! Congrats Russell, future HOFer.

Holy smokes - Hass was the best this franchise had ever seen but Russ absolutely obliterated his career numbers - On a team ran by a defensive head coach and a run first game plan - while Hass was running Holmy's offense.

It is very impressive, but I would only point out that the game has changed so much that it's hard to compare apples to apples. Defensive DB's have far less ability to interfere with WR's today then in Hass's time. The game is geared to the passing attack like never before. Not to say Wilson isn't playing really well, but the game has changed.

I don't think it's fair to match records with players in different era's with very different rules of the game. That is also why I will not say Tom Brady is the best ever at QB. He wouldn't have survived as long in earlier era's, or had anywhere near the same numbers.

IIRC Russ, DK, and Lockette all have franchise record within reach in these last 2 regular season games. It would be terrific to see all three get em. IF they do we're probably in pretty darn good shape in both games, and for the playoffs.

No, but yards were the only major statistic he was still behind Hass in outside of attempts, completions and interceptions, and being behind in attempts and interceptions is good. Maybe look at the attachment next time.

Shoot, tell me something that Matt was better than Russ at as a QB? Matt was excellent for the amount of talent he possessed, but it's not even in the same stratosphere to compared Russ and Matt at this point.
And that's a good thing, you want to always improve at that position. Hopefully, someday after Russ retires, we see someone on the Hawks who is just as good or even better. That equals winning, something this team has done for quite some time now.

Look I love me some Matty H but why are we even entertaining this argument? You have to be insane to believe that Russ doesn't have more talent in his pinky then Hass has in his whole body. I love both of them and am proud they represented the Hawks like they did or do when they play(ed). Both guys are special to a Hawks fan but please...there's no comparison in talent.

He's still waaaay behind him in picks. Maybe that's what he meant?

When the QB had a press conference, I'd listen to Hass any day over Russ. I love our QB, and I wouldn't trade him out for anyone, including Mahomes or Jackson or Watson, etc. But I stopped watching his press conferences a long time ago, years now.

But Hass? The guy was/is so fun, so quick with replies and anecdotes, I think the average guy could relate to him. I'm glad he got us to our first SB, but the "average-joe" often carried over to his play on the field, too, as far as QBs in the league are concerned.

And one of the posters that starts with a "T" said they wouldn't even sign RW to a $20MM/year deal during the offseason.

Really love what Wilson does for this team and that is a cool stat, but Hasselbeck is still possibly my favorite Seahawk of all time.
