Just a curious question...not to take away from lynch or turbin as they dominate, but do you think we should throw Christine in for more snaps just to keep defensive coaches guessing about our game plan. Dude has serious potential as our 3Rd string. He just seems intriguing, looks great on film, and looks like a serious play maker. ??

the way i see it CM will be our starter one day, why not keep him fresh, let him soak in the game for a season or two, when lynch is done bring him in as the starter with very little mileage on his body. Kind of like the same thing we did with alexander. Turbin to me is a very good backup/3rd down back.

As long as he doesn't get Russell killed in pass protection.

I just haven't seen a lot of Turbin pass protection. I get that he might be better at it but look at the St Louis games and the RBs didn't really pass protect....

Both Michael and Turbin are averaging like 4 ypc. Michael in better situations than Turbin. CM has a rep for putting the ball on the carpet, Turbin has never fumbled (IIRC). So you pick your poison: Go with the consistent 4ypc with the sure handed Turbin, or get you 4ypc with the uncertain CM. I want more CM as well. He has homerun potential, but this team is 9-1 hitting base hits and the occaisional grand slam. I'm in no way arguing here, I just don't know that CM is a step up at this place in time. So we trust Pete...and Pete apparently prefers Turbin.

Think our protection is bad? It would be tenfold worse without Money and Turbo battling blitzers coming up the middle. When I watch both on passing plays, I see guys who know their assignment and execute an effective block immediately. Where we've struggled is containing guys who come off the edge. St. Louis's pass-rush comes from their two edge rushers, and they've taken our tackles to school on multiple occasions now.

Right now, I think you need to keep Marshawn on the field because he's the best damn running back in the NFL and you need to ride with Turbin in relief duty because he's excellent in pass-pro and consistently runs for positive yardage. Michael will eventually get an opportunity, but let him soak it in while Marshawn/Turbin are healthy. It would only take one play for him to be a guy we rely on for 15-20 carries.

.

True. I tend to watch the football more than things around but I agree the edges have collapsed more. I would have thought that we would keep RBs home more and chip blitzers as they come through but if they are blocking up front that is a bit harder.

Thanks for the comment
