CMC is healthy and from reports, has looked great in camp and practices. I expect to see him on outside runs behind Williams and Brian Robinson on inside runs. It'll be a good early test for the run Defense.
Yep, he's a grown man.

The Hawks and Whiners split last years games. In both cases the home team lost.

The first game, the Whiners had Kittle but not McCaffrey. It was before the bye week, so before the personnel and other changes that dramatically improved our defense.

The second game, Kittle was injured and McCaffrey played. He did have 4.2 YPC, but only ran for 79 yards.

Division games are always unpredictable but I feel pretty confident in this one. I think Macdonald is quite capable of limiting the Whiner offense, especially with most of their receivers out.

Seahawks defense should be able to bottle up the 49ers offense. But the 49ers made a concerted effort in the off season to become bigger in the trenches along the DL to avoid being gashed by their divisional foes (eg Rams, Seahawks, Cardinals).

Plus, the return of Saleh means the 49ers are going to bring it with pass rush.

Seahawks offense is still trying to figure out its identity in game 1 and the 49ers are missing too many WRs.

I see this game becoming a slug fest that goes down to the wire with FG kicks.

I have always thought this about Purdy - when he had that bulletproof O-line he was money. But like most QB's when they get pressure their efficiency drops considerably. I always felt like it took a little less pressure to get that result with Purdy as compared to other QB's.
I'll take "things I think but aren't based on facts" for 500 alex. Check out your boy though

Nice find!
Well, it is still somewhat factual, Purdy is worse when pressured, but doesn't turn to crap nearly as much as most other QBs.
The only QBs that are BETTER when pressured are Lamar and Josh Allen.

Things that ARE based on facts: The next-to-last WORST QB when pressured last year...
Some dude named G. Smith from the Seattle Seahawks.
To be fair to Geno, a lot of that probably had to do with Grubb's offense.

If we can stop or seriously limit their screen game, while succeeding with our own screen game, we will win handily.
I look at game 1 as a must win.
The X factor is McCaffrey.

If he goes off, he'll be a pain in the Hawks ass from the get-go.

Hence the use of "Felt" on my part.

I also 'Feel" that a good portion of your team will be a MASH unit halfway through the season.

Shannahan always makes JAG QBs look like pro-bowlers. Garoppolo looked like a franchise guy, Mullens looked serviceable. Beatheard didn’t look half bad. Lance was the only one I can think of who never really looked like he had potential.

Purdy will continue to produce in the system, until the wear and tear of playing in a Shanahan offense reduces his effectiveness. Just a question of when that happens.

They will be beating the bell cow in this game. Expect to see McCaffery featured in the rushing and passing game. Pearsal is looking pretty damn good. Kittle is Kittle.

I still think the Hawks take the SF Mashers by ten. Just too many injuries to start the season, while our starters are generally fresh.
