You guys get too reactionary over one week's performance. Rodgers "abused" Maxwell in Week 1 too, and now he's our savior? We'll be fine as long as Simon and Maxwell maintain discipline. We'll give up underneath stuff all day. That's our system.

Maxwell also intercepted Rodgers, 175 yards passing from Rodgers, he wasn't "abusing" anyone.

Gave up six catches. Jordy had 83 yards. Through the first three weeks of season, Maxwell gave up more yards and catches than any DB in the NFL. I'm not killing Max; just saying you can't overreact to one week or even three for any player.

:13:

This is the first time Simon has looked overmatched. It might have something to do with the injuries (separated shoulder and dislocated finger). He might also need to work on his coverage technique against bigger receivers. He was nothing short of excellent in coverage during the regular season.

I expect them to really try to make an effort to run the ball with Lacy in the first quarter. If they can't run the ball on us, it will be a long day for them.

And this ^. I'm going to go out on a limb and say its gonna be a long day for the Pack.

If Rodgers plays at all like he did in the first half, the Hawks will eat him alive

That's what I dont get. Most of what he gave up was underneath routes, but people are freaking anyway.

The Packers don't have a WR that resembles Benjamin.

Simon will be ok. You don't face guys that big very often.

No but they have 2 of them who are better

Simon has been good for most of the games he played. I am going to chalk up his game last night to first playoff game jitters, not preparing enough to play outside all week, and being matched up on a dang good receiver in Benjamin.

I have confidence he'll bounce back if he needs to play out there again.

Simon was fooled a few times but really only 1 big play against him. Most of the yardage was just conservative play as the D as a whole was stacking the box for benjamin/cam runs.

Pete's philosophy is to take away the explosive plays and make the opposing offense earn their living the hard way taking small gains while facing big risks. Are you familiar with the expression "picking up pennies from railroad tracks?" That's what those short passes are against this defense. They can complete a bunch of them if they execute flawlessly and slowly make their way down the field, but eventually something is not perfect and then the KamTrak express is heading the other way with a pick six.

I will bet that Tharold Simon's performance review is more positive than not. He was targeted all game and gave up one big play against a very good receiver. Zero reason to start a panic over it.

Nobody is "freaking," and nobody wants to boot Simon from the team.

The fact is, we all watched Cam shred Simon's area with back shoulders and 3rd down completions to the middle to keep the chains moving. Understandably, many of us didn't care for it and we're all hoping it doesn't happen again.

Having B-Max back should help with that a LOT.

But he won't avoid Sherman, like last time. Interesting matchup.

Translation: Rodgers will throw passes to different receivers.

Simon had a character building experience in the game Sat.

If he is the real deal, he will shrug that off and play sound, fundamental football.

We are always going to give up those short plays, and it doesn't matter who is playing CB on those plays.

I can't imagine Maxwell not being OK after another entire week to shake whatever's ailing him.

If not? Holy moly, cause Simon looked absolutely awful.........and that was against Newton, Rodgers is going to pick him apart.
