It was literally the same play they just ran for 6 yards, the difference is the Rams were selling out, they won on the play and Russell made two mistakes.

I'm going to find a way to test this comment. I don't remember seeing Lockett behind the LOS near the center of the field.

The rams won that play. No way were we picking up the first down running up the middle. No Way. They had it completely bunched up. I do agree we didn’t need to go out of shotgun. If anything maybe try Russell under center and just quick count and push the line. Don’t five them time to set up the D. But we are trying to run out the clock as much as possible.

Who the hell cares. We won!

There's a difference between getting stuffed for nothing and losing 6 yards, isn't there?

Dudes, I'm not a detractor of Schottenheimer. Or Pete. I think they both will help take the Hawks far this year, and did so last year (farther than the roster talent maybe deserved).

We had no business being in the gun. Line up your helmets against their helmets with your QB under center and hand the ball to Carson. Come on now!

You effing run the ball twice with Carson there. Otherwise, what's the ******* point to being a team that runs first in order to wear a defense down?

Russell made the chioce to keep it, he was wrong. Playcall was fine.

It was the wrong choice out of what was 2 bad choices as the dive was going no place either.

NO it was a bad call or choice that was one of many plays that could have cost us the game.

Yep, you don’t run into a 10 man stacked box.
Beyond stupid playcall. You need to get a first down period. Got lucky the last 3 downs didn’t cost you the game.

I get the thinking behind your statement, but that would have been stuffed the way the Rams were set up on D.

In all honesty, they probably should have audibled to a bootleg or a short pass. Rams were set up perfectly.

No there is no difference. The only thing that mattered was getting first down / not turning over. When that doesnt happen getting 1 yard or going back 6 is irrelevant at that part of the field

What an amazing game. Watched it in a bar in Miami with a bunch of non-fans and casual observers, and by the end of the night, had em rooting for the Hawks and people were raving about what a great game it was.

Don't care about that run play. That was Russ being Russ. I'm so grateful we have him on a long term contract. Russ is a baller. A winner. He took a risk and it failed. We still won. That energy was something else and you can put that right on Pete and Russ.

This team is something special. I'm having so much fun watching them. So grateful that Russ is my quarterback and not Goff the overpaid hack. This team inspires me.

An imperfect game and we won it by a point. Does it honestly get any better than that?

I’d like to think we could gain AT LEAST 2 yards, come on. Lots of overthinking going on here

Wasn't an awful playcall, Rams just blew it up in the middle. Didn't execute.

I agree. The way I saw it there was nothing up the middle

I'm utterly flumoxed by the defense of that playcall. Defending putting the ball 7-8 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Putting Lockett in motion did nothing but take away a possible weapon.

This was getting too cute. Full stop.
We won the GOTDAMNED GAME namonoz....Full Stop :177692: STHU

POUND THE ROCK! What you said times x1,000,000. How many games have we lost trying to set up the run? You had it set up as demonstrated by gashing them the previous two plays. If they can't stop you, then keep going that route. This team seriously outthinks themselves too much.

1000% on Pete. Just before the half all he had to do was call a timeout and tell the entire team to tackle the receivers. The next play would have to be a TD or a fg....no time for anything else.....Rams would have had to kick.....we lost 4 points on not coaching correctly.

Why don't we have a QB who is tall and powerful who can lean over for a first down? OR a RB like Curt Warner who could literally jump over the linemen? There should be one of each on every team that has a midget at QB. Seems like in the past Kam could have done this easily, so could Penny with his size and vertical .... Done correctly like Warner or Marcus Allen, nobody can stop it.

We do have a long history of not being able to gain one yard on the ground. It has led to some questionable playcalling.

I have no problem with them being forced to punt, since we pinned LA deep. Everything we did after that was perplexing.
