There are so many question marks at a pivotal position for a run first offense. I'm not sold on any of the remaining guys on the roster. I liken it to the situation when PC/JS first took over the Seahawks in 2010. They signed Leon Washington and LenDale White, Julius Jones and Justin Forsett were here. None of those guys were effective so they went out and traded for Marshawn Lynch after the 1st month of the season.
I agree. I don't understand this "any warm body at RB will do" philosophy that some people have here. You've got to have at least one above-average player at that position.

This is set in stone. All other RB's in this draft are subpar to these ND teammates.
A few in here would be elated if John were to pick Price at #32 or just below, you would be giddy with excitement. But the other 8-10 RB's that John and his scouting crew personally hand picked, signed, drafted, are finally healthy are apparently below average warm bodies.
Got it. Price will save us.
Not a shutdown CB that will be there at #32, but Price.

*Price who never carried the ball more than 120 times in a season.
*Price who suffered a ruptured achilles in 2022.
*Price who had limited production as a pass catcher & pass protection is a work in progress.
*Price who fumbled 3 times in 2025 as a backup.
*Price who is more suitable to be in a run by committee backfield than a workhorse back.
*Price who more and more feels like the Rick Mirer of RB's.

John is going to reload this defense and priority #1 is CB. Defense wins championships.

Not disagreeing with you there. JS has done a great job of drafting. However, he was part of the team when Penny was drafted. Unless you are in the room, you have no clue how much input he had when making that choice. He was also there when they traded for Marshawn Lynch (the best rb of the PC/JS era). Marshawn was a 1st round back too even though the Seahawks didn't draft him. Penny was outstanding in college so I'm not blaming them for picking him. It's unfortunate it didn't work out.
yep, sometimes you gotta take a swing!

Any pro starter level RB, not just any warm body.

The ironic thing is Penny received the highest medical grade this franchise has ever given a prospect. RB is a tough position for maintaining health.
My son loves playing it…of course, I’m waiting for the day he ‘outgrows’ that desire and sticks to hammering kids at LB.

Very well said.

I definitely see both sides. Losing a guy like K9 stings.

But I’d rather grab a CB or Guard…and maybe take a shot at a guy later on if I’m that stuck on drafting a RB.

I don’t know how Price will do in the pros…and folks will have issues with what I say next. I don’t want to spend a first rounder on a guy who wasn’t #1 in his position on his own college team.

Barry Sanders was a backup at Oklahoma State….whatever.

If we take a shot at a guy like Arkansas RB…I’m with it. Later rounds ofc…

Not having a competent RB may impact Darnold the most

That’s the problem

The gamble may blow up on our face or Darnold may just be the next Tom Brady and carry the offense by himself

You have been a fan for more than 2 years right? Just ignore the 8 years of BS and blame it all on PC?

Amazing how much raw hatred for Pete still exists. Some people think John craps nothing but gold, too.

"That's a position that you can find guys," Schneider said of running backs on his weekly show on Seattle Sports. "And obviously, (Walker was) outstanding, and everybody's really excited for him. I mean, that's a great, great contract for a running back. But George did a great job. We're really excited about Emanuel Wilson, who we got from Green Bay, a heavy runner with really nice feet.

"Just to kind of quell people, at this time of the year, I get it. But like, (Charbonnet) is doing great. Kenny McIntosh, he had a great (2024) season, and that was just an awful injury for him. But I get it. And it's a position that ... we know where we're at right now."

JS isn't worried....like at all.

I think that's where he wants to be from a roster construction POV. Churning young running backs unless they come back on very team-friendly deals. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes OL/DL/CB in some order during the draft and ignores RB (unless he trades back for a couple more picks).

...sorry...put this in the wrong thread. Copied to draft thread.

Last year, all of JS's picks up to the 7th round got playing time. If you're hitting on every pick, having 4 is less of an issue. It also provides options on moving if you have some confidence in the evaluation work.

Additionally, UDFAs will (should) be pretty excited to possibly play on Seahawks ST: Shaheed, Horton, Dickson, Myers. That's a privilege as opposed to a let-down on most other teams.
