Imagine that sentence two years ago...
I have been a fan boy of Schneider line for a couple of years. Lol, one of a long list of toffee's unpopular opinions. Trading Wilson in 2020, starting Geno after Wilson's finger injury, trading Lockett in 2022 or was it 2023, predicting OL revival, super bowl 2025, etc etc.

Every year there is a new flavour of the season at RB, the new latest and greatest ever. Usually it ain't necessarily so.

Every year as well there is significant turnover at RB, b/c it’s a tough physical position to play and most can’t stand up to the pounding. Reality at the position is the career lengths are shorter than other positions b/c it’s a skill, if you have it, that disappears with time and b/c of injury.

With any draft pick demonstrated ability as a college player doesn’t always translate. Positionally this most true at RB where the bright lights often burn out quickly. The position is truly as a result fungible and JS is right, good players can be found easier than at other positions. The team has 7 guys already on the roster, several of which have starters experience and ability. We won’t know how special they could become until it gets real. Draft position truly means little here as the team has found RBs that had real talent consistently and sometimes very late in the draft.

Being honest about K-9 he was darn special at the end of the season, and good at times as a rookie, but was frequently unavailable at times, or simply not special at other times. In fact Charbonnet was close to overtaking him as RB #1. Despite Walter’s talent I would not have paid him what KC did knowing his history. Time will tell if he earns that deal. Good for him if he does.

We need to let the RB situation play out and watch what may become a vicious competition for the position. JS has a plan here we need to keep the faith.

I am sure they are banking on Charb being #1. He was drafted high enough to be #1. Time to find out.

The other guys are just being there to back up or in case he failed

If he fails , they are toasted

I thought I heard or saw somewhere that John Schneider wasn't impressed with the overall prospects in this upcoming draft. If that's the case, then one would think he would look to trade the picks for a proven player who is still entering his prime.

They had Coleman in for a visit after his pro day, that means something.

That just may mean they do not spend a high pick on a RB but they will still be looking at prospects for day three/UDFA.

Schefter reporting we met with Najee Harris today.
He wasn't even that good before his Achilles tear. It felt like he was running in water and his YPC shows that. I can't imagine how much slower he is coming off an achilles tear
