I can see how an offseason thread detailing all the things Rat has gotten right would be a winner, at the very least entertaining.
Can we BOOK IT?

That would crash the servers, but we could try!I can see how an offseason thread detailing all the things Rat has gotten right would be a winner, at the very least entertaining.

He had zero in the Niners win. He had a couple against the Rams. What other big games did he blow it in? Stroud has 5 touchodwns in 5 playoff games. He does have 3 wins. He's young and watching him last night I just trust Darnold more. In Darnold's recent big games he made the critical play or drive to win it too. Not sure Stroud did that in his playoff wins but I could be wrong.I suppose, but seems like that was the case for Darnold in a number of his "big wins" and you have him third, despite not having Stroud's history of success in the playoffs.
Stroud has also played in big games that weren't the playoffs. And Darnold played in some before this season, including a playoff game.He had zero in the Niners win. He had a couple against the Rams. Not a lot separates a lot of the guys after Allen to be honest so its not a knock on a specific player.
Yup. There's some developmental things he's still short on. No doubt. But his improvement has been massive this year under the tutelage of Ben Johnson. He's uber talented, makes plays and throws that only a couple of other QB's are capable of. That one he made late in the game on 4th down the other night was one of the most spectacular clutch throws I've seen in the playoffs before. The 4th quarter hero ball from Caleb is impressive but how sustainable is that? He missed a wide-open guy in the flat that would have led to a victory in that 9ers game.
Nix wont win the SB. We have seen the zenith of Nix - he is what he is. Decent middle of the pack QB that will be good enough to keep donk in the mediocre draft pick range so that they can continue their mediocrity. 1st place schedule coming for them next year - and it will be glorious to watch. They will return to mid pack - at best. BOOK ITDefinitely Allen at the top. I don't know how anyone could think otherwise. Imagine if he had Philly's wasted receiving corp? I'd put Stafford second. From there it gets kind of dicey to choose. I'm inclined to put Caleb Williams at the number three spot. Putting any of his developmental shortcomings aside for the moment, he's the most all round talented QB of the rest with his combination of speed, elusiveness, arm talent, and his clutch ability to wrest victories from the jaws of defeat, as he's done time and again this season. Guy's truly got ice water in his veins.
I'd probably round out the list like this...
4) Drake Maye
5) Darnold/Purdy
7) Stroud
8) Nix
I think Stroud is more naturally talented then either Darnold or Purdy, but I need to see better play out of him, need to see more of his talent realized on the field. As for Nix, he landed in the right spot. He came to the NFL with a ton of college experience, and Payton is getting the most out of him. If he wins a Super Bowl with the Broncos this year, he'd warrant a higher place on the list.
Really…..#1 - Serious Sam Darnold. Going by fundaentals, skill and clutch factor? He is the best QB left. By every conceivable metric. Period.
<big gap>
#2 - Josh Allen - Not quite at Sam's level, but an MVP and scariest guy out there not on Seattle.
#3 - Matt Stafford - Hate to say it but he's good.
#4 - D Maye - Unproven though. Very unproven.
#5 - Brock Purdy - Meh. Never been too scared of him. He's a meh guy who has never gotten over the hump and never will.
#6 CJ Stroud - Has proven himself more than the last two.
#7 - Caleb Williams - He has cooked at times this season.
#8 - Bo Nix - Meh.
Something wrong with my list?Really…..
Sam at the top? I got blue and green glasses too….Something wrong with my list?
