If "winning multiple big games that mattered late in the year" matters to you, then why do you have the guy who has won in the playoffs every year he has been in the league last? These rankings don't seem consistent.
Every year? He went 6-9 as the starter last year and the Whiners didn't even make the playoffs.

I don't see anyone, and barely even the usual two guys anymore, defending Geno.

There isn't 'defending' Geno. There simply is what is.

If player 'A' is given a superior team and performs at a similar level as another player ( Player B) who was given an inferior team (and inferior in aspects critical to his performance), one would think that the guy who was given less is at least as capable if not more capable. That's basic logic.

You don't even have to bring Geno into the conversation. We saw what he did here over the last 3 years with the team around him and we see where Sam is with the team he has.

If Sam is the major question mark he is today, how much moreso would he be if he had to play with a middle of the pack defense, one of the most pourous o lines in the League , and in a scheme that has him just standing back in the pocket, in shotgun, with the least amount of PA called in the league, the fewest number of under center plays run, and with the fewest attempts in the running game to keep defenses off balance? He has 14 INT on THIS team...

Great blocking, PA, Under center plays, a running game, and not being asked to carry 70% of the load on offense on his arm. - Those things have pretty much been universally acknowledged as being NECESSARY for Sam to succeed. The last guy was given none of that and was seen as one of the better passers in the league despite it all given what he had to play with... And turned the ball over less than Darnold...

There is literally nothing else to argue about because arguing it is simply that.

Sam is our QB. I hope he is getting some good rest, God trim, eating solid meals, getting good reps in practice, and is as prepared as he absolutely can be heading into this game.

And I hope the rest of the team gives him all of those absolutely necessary things a QB needs to succeed that have so obviously been lacking the last several years.

And we will. He has no idea what is coming this weekend. This defense is gonna' be insane.
Agreed.
I think they are pissed at all of the yapping coming from SF and the blatant disrespect that is still out there.

Check this out if you wanna get fired up...

Comical.

I hope we break their team for years to come.

This is my ranking of the QBs left in the playoffs. I know Stafford's had an MVP year, but Allen is just a difference-maker. Drake Maye is surprisingly good, and as much as I hate to say it, Purdy's been pretty good this season.

What's your list?
That's not a bad list. I don't think I would change anything.

Drake Maye is untested, so Sam should be #4, but good list.

1 - Allen, though I get the argument from a pure passer standpoint he isn't
2 - The old guy, no the other old guy, Stafford
3 - Purdy (when paired with Shanahan)
4 - Darnold (good Darnold would be #3 bad Darnold would be 8)
5 - Maye
6 - Nix
7 - Williams
8 - Stroud
I have it in exactly the same order. Maye might move up or down once he's shown what he can do in the playoffs.

I got killed for not trusting stroud and he keeps turning the ball over today. I’ll take Darnold over Stroud all day.

The level of suckitude that Stroud is displaying so far vs NE is going to be tough even for the Texans D to overcome. He is making a strong case that he belongs at the bottom of the list.

Stroud turned into Geno all of a sudden.....oops they are in the playoffs, so he couldn't have turned into Geno.
In the right circumstances, I fully believe Geno could lose a playoff game.
