It's hard to judge Penix. He was constantly throwing from an utterly clean pocket, and was sacked maybe 5 times all year. It makes him hard to evaluate. There's so little adversity response to track, you know? That highlight video is a great representation of that. He was barely moved off of his spot in all of those plays with deep/slow-developing routes.
If your reason for passing on Will Levis or Anthony Richardson is Penix, Jr. . . . erm, no. Nope. Nyet. No. Nope.
If you really believe in your ability to develop players (and the Hawks seem to), draft the guy with the makeup to be a superstar. Not the guy that had the tidiest completion percentage when throwing from a clean pocket against a conference with very weak defenses.
