What WR out there that was available would be able to step into the NFL right away and be a #1 go to receiver?

That's not what I said. I said he's not going to be able to step in at WR and carry the load if Harvin goes down, and I don't like his chances of becoming a number 1 WR. Let me be clear imo there were better WR's (that are potential number 1/1a WR's) available when they took Richardson and better players at other positions than Richardson it's that simple.

Ok. Who were better? And obviously, its not that simple when people that get paid to do this make mistakes year in, year out

"He has speed and that is it"

Yes if you disregard the separation he gets.... The problem with a guy like Tate is that he never got separation. He was fantastic after the catch (except for when he went backwards) but he didn't get separation. This is a huge thing for a team built around PC's preaching of no TO. Having guys get separation should in theory allow us to be more of a passing team. Lowering the risk of turnovers is a key concept and most likely one major reason this is the guy they wanted.

Nobody knows if it was a good or bad decision. Stop dealing in absolutes when prior years should have taught everyone that you hope to get 50%+ making the roster out of the draft and that is it.

He's consistently praised for his "crisp, precise route running" and his hands...so I don't get how "he has speed and that's it". Ricardo Lockette has speed and that's it. This guy can run every route in the route tree.

This made me smile. Thanks. And I do mean this with respect.

This is where I'm coming from on Richardson. If Harvin gets hurt can he carry the load at WR . I don't think he can he's not physical enough and that's my problem with this selection. He's a weapon he's not a number 1 WR in the NFL and there were players available that fit that mold. Now if Harvin doesn't get hurt were fine, but if he does I don't think Richardson is the answer. There were a lot of different ways they could have gone in the draft I'm skeptical that this was the best one.

Harvin didn't play last year....

I didn't like the pick on draft day and I still don't imo there better players available . Hopefully the kid proves me wrong and he turns out to be the better player than the ones they passed on, we'll see.

I really hate the term #1 WR. There are very few players in the NFL that meet the requirements of the so called "True #1".

You still haven't answered who those better players are/were

Fine here you go Latimer , Robinson , Lee and there's a couple more I'd have probably rather they took than Richardson.
This is just my opinion it doesn't mean anything and I think Richardson has a chance to be good I'm not calling him a bust I'm just saying imo there was better talent available. I'm sorry if that's not what some of you want to hear but I call them like I see them.

Thanks for having a different opinion than the front office and having the balls to say so. It's too easy to follow like sheep and trust everything the franchise does. I won't ridicule you for having an opinion and standing by it.

Do you think Richardson won't make the team? because its fine if you do. I said last May that Harper wouldn't make the team and he didn't.

I think Richardson not only makes the team but makes Harvin expendable next offseason.

Thanks Tech I know you were underwhelmed with the pick on draft night. I also know you will support the pick now that it's been made so will I. That doesn't mean we have to throw all our draft analysis out the window because they took him though.

Stat line against the Legion Of Boom for a 5'10" 183lb receiver last season:
5 catches 140 yards and 2 td's

Richardson had better college numbers than this receiver.

Stat line against the Legion Of Boom for a 5'11" 180lb receiver in 2011:
8 catches 126 yards and a td's

Richardson had better college numbers than this receiver.

I am not saying that Richardson will be as good as TY Hilton or Mike Wallace, but to dismiss him out of hand is a little over the top.

And what draft analysis is that exactly?

Richardson may be another flash in the pan fast guy who never amounts to anything.

But positive thinking shows that with his length, crisp route running, and ability to make spectacular catches, he could potentially be a better WR than Desean Jackson someday.

That's if you believe him when he says he has gained 20 something pounds of muscle since the end of his college season.

I don't believe him.

I don't believe him.

He weighed in at 175.9 at the combine.

Your act is getting old. You don't have to like Paul, but to flat out call him a liar with no proof is dumb on your part. He says he's up to 180 now, that's not a stretch considering he was 175 at the combine. But I'm sure you don't believe them either.
