My thinking so far is based upon an impression the whole roster is stronger, especially the DLine and the OLine. This should just leave the question whether the coaching will be improved and there I already sparks of significant genuine improvement. I already think the whole D will make a noticeable jump towards being hard to play against, and last season the O was often far better than the D. So far we have seen mostly just the backups this preseason, but we know the talent that was already here on both sides of the balland have seen some good things from several of the new players added.
Last year was 9-8 but the team underwhelmed at times and were pushed around at times too. I don’t have that sense anymore. At present I’m excited to see this final preseason game but am debating if it will be 10-7 or 12-5 as a fair estimate of a season. Still expect the despised Digits to win the Div but time is running out on them and their window is closing. They squeak out a Divisional win over us but the Hawks make the playoffs and win a game, after that it will depend upon how well the team has come together and whether the OLine can stay healthy. I think they could be special as I truly expect the team to split with SF and beat the hated Rams twice.
My guesstimate:
11- 6
Convincingly win Wildcard game, but lose a close game in the Divisional round. Then are set up for the next season when they will be all in.
The Hawks field a D that is top ten and has some ballers at each level, and maybe a true ROY on the DLine, with some ballhawks and thumpers at the rear.
Not buying the it will take the coaches time to coach their schemes and expect we will be truly happy with the results on the field, as the team’s window opens and the team that many are underestimating proves ready to contend.
Just sayin’
