Made through a game without any major injuries. Bowie got dinged up but was able to come back. Might be a positive sign of getting healthier the rest of the way.

Unger concussed, Lynch's knee bothered him until the adrenaline took over.

Unger is significant if his concussion symtoms drag on into next week. They do not have a 3rd center on the roster.

I'd classify a concussion to our All Pro center as significant........especially considering we have to play another 2 games without Okung and maybe Breno.

It is a good thing we have a full week to recover this week, but for a concussion?......LJP will be in most likely.

Speaking of the Unger concussion, is there a gif or vid of the play where it happened that anyone knows about? I missed that one during the game...

Unger hasn't played like an All-Pro center this year.
It's amazing how fans evaluate individual performances in team sports. So much of what leads to individual success is rooted in team success. The result is prevalent attitudes like this one, or another recent post stating that "Ron Rivera was holding the Panthers back" for the first part of the season. Apparently you succeed as a team but fail as an individual, unless maybe you are a QB then you can also succeed as an individual.

Are you saying that coaches don't evaluate individual performances in team sports? And are you disagreeing with the Rivera statement? Rivera did make mistakes that can be argued to cost his team wins. To his credit, he seems to have fixed them.

So every individual on an 8-1 team is a great player?

Maybe, but he's still better than anyone else on the line right now, and certainly worth mentioning when being concerned about injuries.

In the reports I saw, Lemuel JeanPierre graded out as our best O-Lineman for the games Unger was out. So a healthy Lem is better than an ailing Unger.
Lem came in for the final series of the 1st half and Seahawks promptly drove for first TD IIRC.

And besides Unger, what about Big Red? I think his situation is probably less severe, because he continued to play, but he still has to pass all the concussion protocol steps.

Yes, Red Bryant concussed is a bit of a problem too.

(BTW Unger was making noises like he thought he'd be cleared to play this week. Seemed to indicate that he's had worse concussions before and been ready on Sunday.)

Red we can backfill, Max we have Lemuel Jeanpierre to ably backfill. So neither of these is as impactful as losing say Bowie or McQuistan. There I said it. With no one to backfill those two backups we are in peril. Purely my opinion.

My comment had nothing to do with the O-Line's collective performance. Unger has been playing through injuries this year which has decreased his effectiveness. Am I wrong?

Snaps to RW have constantly been so low lately that RW has had to catch them just inches above the turf quite a bit the last several games. Don't recall Unger ever snapping so low like this last season. Definitely seems that something's bothering Unger such that it is difficult for him to snap the ball to arrive at the QB at a normal height.

When the Mule was in vs TB, the snaps were a lot better. You are correct that the left arm issue seems to be making it harder for him to get good snaps up when RW is in pistol.
