I think we should add this into out offense, especially as we get into the second half of the season. It's already evident that the defenses we've played against so far, all seem to be gassed out by beginning of 4th qtr.. Now imagine going into no huddle offense right there. with our quick recievers, scrambling Qb, and a rb who just doesn't go down. That would just make the defenses give up simply. And with RW's command and smarts, he would be perfect to run it.

The games are pretty tight as it is. While i like the idea from an entertainment standpoint Pete likes to eat up the clock. Our defense has shown struggles when the offense can't sustain long drives to give them a breather.

If you want to add the no-huddle and hurry-up to your team, you first have to be good on third down. We are not good on third down.

So until we can figure out third down, all we would be doing was handing time of possession to our opponent while gassing our defense.

No thanks. Don't want to tire the defense out even more. We're doing fine with TOP right now.

"Hurry up" doesn't really exist in Pete Carroll's philosophy. Too much potential to put his defense in a tough spot, and Pete Carroll is all about his defense. We'll continue to run the play clock all the way down to zero.

But then, I was kind of surprised we incorporated so many quick slants yesterday, so I guess never say never.

I don't think the risk outweighs the potential rewards, unless in a come from behind situation. I think Pete agrees with that.

So, early in games, I doubt we'd see this as a strategy. But like Dave7 said above, they are anything but conventional. :)

IMO believe our offense is playing vanilla right now. But I also think a lot of this is by design. Regardless of our mantra of one game at a time, the truth is, football is very meta for the season. You don't show all your playbook in every game. You keep things changing from game to game as well. Winning these games while staying vanilla is helping tremendously for future game plans. We're not leaving to many tells on the field.
