This D-bag is still bitter that he got cut back in the day.

Mack Strong>Queef Evans any day of the week. The fact is he should be lucky we cut his sorry ass. Made him earn his spot in the NFL, I think he was a 2nd or 3rd round FB and didn't do jack for us, what a bust.

Think about this...how many of you can name one WR beyond Steve Smith? I cannot, if your thinking Lafeels or whatever his name was, he is a guy who has never really hit it. Their running game does not scare me, and i agree with one poster here, that Winfield will make the difference in containing Cam Newton. I think this should be a win, just based on team talent alone. But as so many have said, "any given sunday"

Here's a thought. If we go there in 90+ humid weather at 10AM PST, and we not only beat, but smash them.... Do we go undefeated?
Nope. Not necessarily.

Do I think this game will be a push over? No. Do I think they will win? Hell yes. Wilson will find a way to win even if he has to do it all by himself, which he wont. Heath Evans is a blow hard.

In this team I trust. GO SEAHAWKS!

To be fair, in that segment they take the opposite side of the same question. He may have lost the coin flip for all we know. If the best he could do is that and not anything related to our talent then it bodes well.

He did say he didn't think either team was gonna take a step back.

Agreed. Spot on

The Carolina game will not even be close. We will dominate. Book it. And remember this.

Wilson's not as big as Cam but still our defense should be used to accounting for a multidimensional QB. Play the run, shadow the QB, but Sherm all over Steve Smith. If they can't score they can't win and I think we have enough weapons on offence to make the difference.

It's a game I have circled on my calendar. I have them all circled.

No way do we lose this game. We will have weeks to prepare for them. They won't be able to pass on us and if they plan to run, they will be trading FGs for TDs (IMO). I suppose a Carolina fan would say...we have weeks to prepare for you, too. Really? Good luck with that. Carolina is in a tough spot being the first to see what PC will do with Harvin. I think we cover the spread with a TD to spare.

We will be more prepared. Pete is a very good road coach. We won 3 of our last 4 including the playoff games.
Our D will keep them in check allowing less than 22 points. BWags will be huge again in this game.
Our offense will be in much better shape for the 1st game of the year scoring between 25-28 points.
We win week 1...
unless they clown stomp us.

Yeah, if the Hawks are in any sort of an offensive groove, the Panthers won't be able to score enough to win, but week one games can get a little dysfunctional for any team.

If they lose, it won't bother me much as long as they get it together before the end of the game so they can bring it for SF. With Wilson though, these guys are going to be ready. I think PC said it best, that whoever the Seahawks are playing that week, is the biggest rival. I think that last season proved how important every game is if they want to win the division. The Niners are flipping very good, the Hawks can't afford to go 10-6/9-7 if the division is their goal and hearing PC talk as if every game is their last game was a good way to get away from the paper championship thing.

Carolina has some talent no doubt. At least we have the speed and athleticism of Bruce Irvin to neutralize Cam getting outside of the pocket.....

Oh wait.....

We're in the same boat as for preparation. They have a new OC and they were a completely different team the second half of last year. We don't really know what type of offense they will be rolling out so we will have some difficulty game planning for them as well.

Harvin adds a new dimension and gives us a wider range of play calling but for the most part we will be similar to last year. The thing that makes me nervous is offenses seem to take a few games to get into a groove and even though I expect big things from this offense, especially with addition of Harvin, I won't be the least bit surprised if we are not firing on all offensive cylinders right out of the gate.

The network makes their guys take different stances to give them something to talk about on these shows.

Besides, I do think that there is a chance we lose this game. We barfed up a loss to Jacksonville on the road in week one back in '05. Carolina is a solid team.

I pray for rain and cool temperatures, with a two hour lightning delay thrown in.

Lets not forget that Carolina probably wins the game last year if Cam Newton doesn't bury the football in the dirt in the endzone on the final drive... This game is no gimme. Even with the big road wins in Chicago and Washington last year, lets not pretend we don't have issues on the road (especially the east coast). We have the better team on paper, but that doesn't mean anything until they go out on the field and do the work.

What I hope to see is a team that comes out of the gates firing with the sense of urgency that they have been displaying all off season. The NFC West is going to be a gauntlet this year and this is one of those games like Miami and all 3 of the divisional road games last year than can mean the difference between going on the road or playing at home in the post season.

My key to the game is getting Marshawn Lynch going. If the O-line comes out and sets the tone and we control the tempo then the Offense will be able to fire on all cylinders and take advantage of all the weapons they have. The defense will make the plays they have to make so long as we aren't going 3 and out on offense and getting tired on D.
