Are no joke. I hope there's no hangover because the Rams could sneak right back into that #1 seed.

Exactly. Panthers and 49ers both still contending to win their respective divisions. Though if Seattle beats Panthers, that would eliminate 49ers from being able to accomplish that, but then they might just be fighting for a wildcard spot.

The only way we eliminate the Niners is for them to lose. That might end up being us having to beat them if they get through the Colts and Bears. The Niners control their destiny just like we do. Making the Oanthers game Huge and the Niners control their game could be for everything.

The Niners have a tough final two games as as well with The Bears and our guys while the Rams have an easy final two that if they win and even if we beat Carolina we could lose the division to if SF beats us.

Don’t think the team will take either game lightly.

I guess that depends....whether the Rams are even able to recover from choking away a historically large 4th quarter lead.

Not sure what you're saying, but just to clarify, was saying eliminate 49ers from being able to accomplish that (win the division), not eliminate them from the playoffs.

Us beating the Panthers doesn’t clinch the division. We need help.

Assume the Niners win the colts and Bears games (I hope not but for clinching scenarios) The Niners would be 12-4 going into our week 18 match. Assume we beat the Panthers too, we’d be 13-3 going into that final match. If we lose to the Niners we would’have identical 13-4 records but they win the tiebreaker.

We don’t need help if we win the next two. You can’t ask for more than being in control of our own destiny. If we lose either game we likely won’t won the division.

We absolutely don’t need help. Win out and we clinch number 1 seed. I was being specific as to needing help to eliminate the Niners from the division. Before week 18. The Niners oddly enough still control their destiny as much as we do. Hoping they falter sooner but if not we will just have to take care of them ourselves.

You said in your first post that us beating the panthers would elimimate the 49ers from winning the division. This is false. Only the 49ers losing one more game (which could be the one against us or their other game) does that.

It's so simple and clear for us now. Win the last two games and we win the division, secure the #1 seed in the NFC, get a bye week to rest and get healthy, and have home field advantage for the divisional round and the NFC championship game if we make it there.

I'd also like us to beat the 9ers to even us up with them in the win/loss column during the MM era. So far this is MM's divisional record:

49ers 1-2
Rams 2-2
Cards 4-0

Total divisional record so far for MM: 7-4

I think the Colts and Bears will be tough games for the niners. Likely we see the Rams again In the playoffs.

Dude, lighten up man. The HAWKS are no joke.
100%, we are no joke! Let’s go Seahawks!

That said, I get what he was saying. I’ve seen it a million times. After an emotional win with heaps of emotional capital spent, it’s easy to come out flat against an (on paper) inferior opponent.

Wasn’t it the week after the Rams beat us, that they got beat by the same Panther team we face?

Every NFL is formidable, and the Panthers are a team in the upper half of the league. They are still fighting to win their division with an identical record to TB. Against the Rams, Bryce Young had his personal highest QBR ever, if he plays well again against us, I expect a dogfight.

I hate quoting Stafford, but I like what he said after the game Thursday, “Respect everyone, fear no one”.

Yeah, you're right. But MM doesn't allow "letdowns." (Or I hope he doesn't)

Stay on track. Keep winning and all will be right with the world.

If we lose a game, we might need help. If we don't, we don't.
