Steve Harper ..... now there is a name from the past most here don't recognize.

Harper was a mental mess if you ask me.
Playoffs or Layoffs!

God, I wonder what happened to him? I know he had a lot of issues.

Hopefully he's still out there somewhere.

A dose of reality for everyone…

Russel Wilson’s net worth is prolly close to 250 million. Love him..hate him..don’t care…it doesn’t matter…that’s a lot of coin…and by extension what is wrong (in my opinion) with professional athletics.

Think about that.

We all may be laughing at him…but the reality is..he’s laughing at us…all the way to the bank

True....but money couldn't buy the greatness he so very much wanted when he thought he was too good to be in Seattle. His career arc was something never seen before with his meteoric fall. HOF is clearly off the table and his legacy is in ruins.

I noted down a few things when I watched the documentary about Sea Biscuits (SB), one of the fastest horses.
  1. SB wasn't a looker, a little short and somewhat chubby, but he displayed speed when he wanted to run.
  2. SB was owned by the richest woman at the time, a Vanderbilt, I think
  3. Vanderbilt hired the best, a trainer who won Triple Crown.
  4. SB was untrainable under this trainer, as he bit and kicked the jockeys.
  5. SB was sold to his second owner, who owned a car dealership and was trained by a cowboy with minimal racehorses experience.
  6. This cowboy figured out that SB was different, and he ....
    1. Let SB sleep lying down until noon, no morning training.
    2. Double the size of his stall, and put an old mare, a monkey, and some dogs as company.
    3. Changed his diet.
  7. The rest was history.
Wilson ain't SB, but he also needs his own unconventional setup and training. Not sure if he is getting it now.
We know who the old mare is. Is Jake Heaps the monkey or one of the dogs?

I jest. No illl will intended. I just chuckled at a visual of that stable with superimposed faces....

I don't care how much money he has. I'm still laughing at him from my cardboard box home holding my coin collector can.

When he only gives 3% to charity but implies all contributions go to charity,
I can see how his fortune grows.

I often share the Sea Biscuit story with friends with kids underperforming in schools.

Daboll should have a good honest look at whether the Giants really need Russell Wilson at this point. I doubt Russ is an advantage on scout team over Winston, and Winston’s the one who acceeds more to game plans. Winston and Dart furthermore are friends while Russell is a business acquaintance.

I remain surprised that the saints haven’t just traded a conditional sixth and Jake Haener for Russ already. Kellen Moore ****** up big time by ending up with a qb room where not one has experienced an nfl win. If he wants to keep his job thru the season or be considered for a 2026 position, it would make sense to acquire asap a veteran like jamais or even Russ in trade.

Russ still put up 33 against Dallas. Usually, that’s a win. Spencer Rattler has rarely delivered even half that, which is why he has a 0-9 record. This is who Shough has to mentor him. Also taking up space in their qb room is Jake Haener who was listed as a co qb1 along with Rattler and Shough. Hunter Dekkers has been released and resigned as the qb4 11 times already.

The worst thing to do when you have f’d up is refuse to fix it. Bringing on Russ or even Jameis is a good faith effort to get maybe 5-6 wins vs 0-2 wins. No coach who wins the tanking sweepstakes remains employed.

The Saints don't need to tank; They just suck all over..
If they did bring in Me3, they would just be slowing down
the young QBs development because they won't be learning
much from a limited QB and they still will lose a lot of games.

Moore’s qb room equivalent is Brett Rypien, Nathan Peterman, Hendon Hooker and John Rhys Plumlee. How many wins do you think you’re getting with that crew? What development will go on?

People give me crap because I refuse to wear a jersey with someone else's name and/or number, but it is in part because of the way professional athletes have evolved over the past 40 some years with the advent of free agency. Loyalty is a two-way street, and teams/players/coaches do not have the same degree of loyalty to their fans as their fans do to them. Russell is a prime example of this trait in professional sports, but he by no means an exception.

Plus, no matter how much I might like a player's persona, wearing their name on my back makes me feel as if I'm worshiping them as if they are some sort of deity. Good, bad, or indifferent, they put their pants on the same way all of us do.

Dart is going to get slaughtered by that media the moment he makes a mistake and the calls will be for Wilson to be put back in.

NY is a place QB's careers go to die unless you are post season Eli Manning. Darnold, Geno Smith, even Daniel Jones is looking better away form there.
Ummm, no.
