Yeah, well Kubiak better figure out how to get some stick-um on his hands without getting caught.
He had 2 drops on 44 targets last year. DK had 5 on 108. The low catch rate is more because he’s a deep threat used to push back the safeties or burn them if they miss an assignment. He’s not getting 5-10 yard passes. It’s a good signing and costs 5.5mil at max

MVS is the defacto starter along with JSN unless Bobo or Young can unseat either one. Seahawks do not have the luxury to call MVS a depth piece when he is basically the best starter on the roster now outside of JSN.

I think Bobo should commit to a cheeseburger diet one entire offseason and become a TE. I think he would actually be decent there if he has the frame to put on weight without losing too much.

Dareke Young has always been intriguing and is a big bodied receiver, a bigger target with the ability to stretch the field yet hasn’t had the opportunity due to a stacked wr room. I feel like he could fit with Darnold throwing dots

There's no reason other than ridiculously unrealistic wishcasting to expect Darnold to be "throwing dots."

Darnold has had one season of throwing at an above-league-average completion rate, and he was still just 17th-best among qualifying starters in that category in his one positive-outlier year. The well-established level for the rest of his career is somewhere around a 58-61% completion rate, which would be dandy for a 1985 quarterback, but in 2025 it blows goats. Details below.

Even if Darnold somehow manages to magically recreate his one good season despite a vastly inferior set of receivers and a vastly inferior offensive line, he'll still -- at best! -- be completing passes at a just-over-league-average rate.

In 2024, Darnold was 17th in completion percentage.
In 2023, he didn't get enough attempts to qualify, but his percentage of 60.9% would have put him 30th, between Justin Fields and Zach Wilson.
In 2022, he didn't get enough attempts, but his percentage of 58.6% would have placed him 32nd, between Baker Mayfield and Zach Wilson.
In 2021, at 59.9%, he was 28th, between Mayfield and Trevor Lawrence.
In 2020, at 59.6%, he was 33rd in the league, between Dwayne Haskins and Carson Wentz.
In 2019, at 61.9%, he was 24th in the league, the second-best showing of his career, between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Daniel Jones.
In 2018, at 57.7%, Darnold had the 31st-best completion rate in the league, between Blake Bortles and Josh Rosen.

Good thing the season is months away and there’s the draft coming up. Where these guys sit on a depth chart that will never be used at all and has zero relevance at all, is a waste of time and space to discuss.

Sam Darnold had the most deep completions and the most yards on downfield throws plus he was rated the best deep ball passer in the NFL last year.
Adding a deep ball threat seems like a good idea to me.
Also his accuracy was much better last year. QB's improve. Perhaps he has stepped up his game.

If this dude is supposed to be our #2, we are in trouble….
A draft pick might be able to beat him out but do you want a rookie that can not run routes with Darnold that holds the ball a tad longer than normal behind this OL in pass pro? Hell no.

MVS isn't perfect but you need a NFL pro that can quickly be open with a slant or run correct go route to help out Darnold.

This guy sucks. Had some promise early in his career but he'll be lucky to make the team.

His New Orleans film isn’t bad. Kubiak was the OC and seemed to use him very effectively. Even with a pretty poor QB after Carr went down.

We will be his fourth team since 2023
Two of those are the Jets and Panthers. Not exactly the finest places. 49ers and Vikings were better and would you look at that he played better!

We’ll be team number 5. I’d like to think we aren’t the Jets or Panthers.
