He really didn't say much. Basically gave a "trust me, these guys are shady" comment here and there w/ no real info. "they called me three times" wooo, scary people.

I get it but he seriously should either spill the beans or not discuss it. Saying he could probably talk about something in the future but not right now sounds like someone stirring the pot unnecessarily.

It was interesting when I heard him on the Bob and Groz show-he kind of sidestepped the question when he was asked if he still would've retired if he was still a Seahawk.

“Let’s be honest, let’s look at Corporate America and what they try to instill in people, like it’s such a big deal because I leave the NFL. That’s how brainwashed people are with money and a false sense of security..."

He's right about that.

I have a ton of respect for him and can relate to his "money isn't everything" message. People seem to believe that selling yourself out and/or doing something that doesn't make you happy is acceptable for the right price. What is the point of that? Life is short.

I think it was a veiled reference to the 1st trade where he claimed they where trying to force him to take less money than owed and then failed him on his physical.

Moffitt said something that Bob and Groz interview that was pretty telling and I think tells us why we got rid of him.

He said "if I was still starting for the Seahawks, I probably would be playing right now". To me that sounds like he got benched for not putting in the work and he suddenly lost his "passion".

I liked Moffitt but he is coming off weird now. It almost appears that he is lazy and it would explain why we gave up on him so easily. If he was starting and came out and said "hey the money isn't worth my health, i'm done" I'd feel a lot differently about him. I feel like he is one of those guys who hides behind going against society just to hide his own shortcomings.

I have a slightly kinder interpretation but a similiar one. I think Moffit had change of heart, "mid-life crisis", whatever. Basically in Carroll's Seahawks, you have to work hard and all the time to remain on top, and O-Line is no exception. If you love the game and are talented, this is a good thing. However, in his case (and I am speculating), he lost the love of the game and thus wasn't able to put his 'motor' into overdrive like he did before.....and I think we saw that. More to the point, I think his coaches saw it which is why he lost his starting job.

Just my take and opinion.

I really wish people's opinions of Moffit were based on what happened on the field and not what they perceive from RRR.

Eh, not really that much of a "blast", really. I believe the operative term for that headline is "clickbait". The author is just skimming the cream off the podcast, which I'm too lazy to go back and listen to. But I suspect it'll be just the same kind of stuff we've heard in his two local interviews.

That the NFL is a filthy, addicting river of money ain't exactly news. At some level, we know that and we love watching in spite of it.

Responding to the actual audio >>>>> I find it interesting that Cleveland has reverted to embracing its traditional disingenuous behavior.

He's right about that.

No he's not. He's taking the most cynical interpretation he can about folks' puzzlement over his departure, and then attributing it all to the evil NFL and Corporate America.

I think there are a lot of people surprised he left the NFL because there are folks out there without any job, period, and he walked away from a paycheck that in a few years would provide more security than many will be able to attain in a lifetime. It's his choice to do that, and I support his right to do it, but acting like the surprise he's seeing is because fans are greed-brainwashed by the corporations is disingenuous, and frankly overestimating the importance of his act. He's not some shining beacon for freedom and morality, he's a dude that walked away from a job he didn't like.

It's okay I guess. He'll get his 15 minutes of fame, if this preening is how he wants to spend it, great. Then he can go make 35k on some radio show, although his future in that business is far from assured. People liked him because in the realm of offensive linemen (or NFL players, really), he had some personality. That's not going to go as far in the wide world as it did on a youtube creation for fans.
