Fields is playing well enough that there will be people talking about keeping Russ on the bench even when he gets healthy. I guarantee ME3 is sweating on the bench right now praying he gets to play in this league again

He's happy on the inside. He's hoping he can just draw paychecks with no worry of embarrassing himself by playing.

Russ's legacy is forever dinged. On the one hand, he was benched last year and is likely working his way to riding the pine again this year.

Then, in Seattle, his former backup has stepped in and is running the offense in ways he never could.

He wanted out. He wanted to not have to 'carry a team'. Now he's carrying a clipboard. He should be happy, the clipboard is a lot easier on the shoulders.

It’s strange how times/emotions change.

Certainly was a time that I’d defend and champion RW without reservation.

Wish him no ill now, but couldn’t care any less if he ever plays another down.
Actually I’d probably take a bit of joy if he didn’t.
I place a significant amount of value in “loyalty” and even though the NFL is a business with business decisions made, his lack of loyalty alienates me.

Excellent way to put it.

It pretty much sums up my feelings. I try and take myself back to his first 2-3 seasons.
He was likeable, somewhat humble, and unique AF. I was thinking Seattle would win 3 SB at least.

For this reason , Ive tried to withhold my vitriol .

I bet he's more frightened of getting put in. He'll be down by double digits and expected to pull some old school magic. It won't turn out well and he'll be worse off....

No way to know what he actually thinks. But I’d guess he thinks if he is in the game and needs a TD - he would absolutely get that done. Or maybe he is thinking about a Dangerwich.

Fields looking decent today against a good Chargers D. Barring an injury to Fields, Me3 will continue to be on clipboard duty.

I wonder if he still drinks recovery water. If so maybe he should bottle his recovery sweat for that big comeback he’s probably anticipating.

Two years ago busting on his Let’s ride bullshit made me legit laugh for an entire season on here. Then he got a coach fired and failed with Payton…his coach of choice.

Now I really dont give a rat’s ass at all. Feels like forever since he’s been here and I think having our own coaching change really makes it feel like it’s been even longer.

Could care less if I ever see him on the field ever again. The Russ we watched from a rookie to a SB champ is loooooooong gone and has been for a very very long time.
