Wasn't McVay considering moving over to the TV announcing side of things a couple of years ago when it looked like Stafford might retire? (Google wasn't helpful, it gave me a lot of hits on the current status.)

"That was never my intended way to be able to come off, but sometimes I can be a little grumpy," McVay said. "There was other things that had nothing to do with that. That's normal life. But the main thing was (I) couldn't be more excited to add (Simpson), but also understanding of how much I love Matthew Stafford, how respectful you want to always be to just the way things can be interpreted."

The only thing Coach McSpikehair loves is what he sees when he looks in the mirror.

So much media covering for the Rams. Them being favorites next year confuses me a little. Will they be good? Absolutely.

However, is it likely Stafford has another MVP season again or stays healthy all year? Possibly but hard to do.
Does Adams lose a step with age? Possibly, they talked about trading him if they got AJ Brown.
Does Nacua lock in or be a liability off the field? Do the Seahawks find a way to nullify Nacua? Jury is out. Lets see what our new corner does.
They addressed the secondary sure, in the games against Seattle though the bigger issue was we ran all over them. This hasn't been addressed.

They drafted a QB who most years goes 3rd round with pick 13 and likely won't play for years. A TE in a already loaded TE room. Olineman- sure, good pick and a flyer on a 6th round receiver (could be good who knows).

I think this is McVeys last shot before taking a break. I think they'll be good but i'm not sure about being the favorites. If any other team had took Simpson at 13 they would have been slaughtered, especially in win now mode.

Still can't believe the Ram's took Simpson at #13 because of worries they couldn't get him in the 2nd, partly because of the Cards picking before them. Then having their draft to seem to spiral down after that. The Cardinals taking Carson Beck with the first pick in the 3rd round was sweet, a life-sized QB to upgrade their first overall pick multi year failed project.

It's like both teams had a chance to keep pace with the Seahawks but they chose to draw to inside straights early at the table and the cards didn't fall right after that. Feels good to type 6-1, 211.
Arizona was humming with Love & Bisontis but they have proven to have no idea how to draft or develop a QB.
Both clubs set themselves back in team building IMHO. It's almost like the Seahawks throttled them and they panicked, smell's like desperation.

The Rams had better hope Stafford stays healthy because their next option isn't much better than a Drake Maye cardboard cut-out.

Way more drama than expected from a simple draft.

And this thread makes it even more enjoyable. :)
