Bro.I would take that gamble, there's zero chance he would get those numbers.
Especially considering he almost did it 2 years ago with a crap o line, oc, and rush attackThere’s always more than a 0% chance for matters like this though.
It wasnt a personality thing. See the article posted above. Mcvay canned him because he struggles under pressure and when everything isnt going just right. Ie - when his o line isnt comsistent and his rum game struggle or he starts to miss receivers, he isnt reliable. It kind of makes me giggle when I hear people compare Geno to Goff. I don't know why they feel compelled to compare them. They're both tall, prototypical pocket passers? Goff was the #1 pick in the draft. He took the Rams to the Super Bowl. His current teammates love him. From everything I've heard it was a personality thing with him and McVay and I have no way of knowing if it is true but there is a group text that got leaked. If he "flamed out" with the Rams what are we talking about? Geno literally just had a nearly identical season to his last in LA.
I'm not saying he has poor vision. I am saying he does not have great field vision. That is two different things. If you get a chance to watch film of Geno's face during play watch his eyes and head. He locks on (as in premeditated, like you say) to a receiver paying no attention to defenders. He also tends to throw to a receiver is instead of the spot where the receiver will be by the time the ball arrives. That is for red zone plays. He doesn't seems to have such a problem with that between the 20s.Btw l, i dont disagree that he tends to force balls to guys, but that seems to be more a premeditated decision as it is abresult of poor vision. Like his INTs, when he wants to throw to a guy, he does it. And yeah, thats a stubbornness that needs to be remedied, 100%
So, forget next year with Geno AND the year after with year 1 QBOTF learning the rope (that we can’t draft because we’ll be in the middle of round 1) and tune in In 26/27 season for progress?Or another year of Geno is a year spent building up surrounding roster to support the QBOTF candidate that we draft NEXT YEAR.
What is he supposed to say? Yeah, Jarred sent out that he wanted to bang my fiance in a group text and that's when things soured between us? How many players has Mcvay ever called out publicly, Before or since? It wasnt a personality thing. See the article posted above. Mcvay canned him because he struggles under pressure and when everything isnt going just right. THAT is why he was let walk. Not speculation. Fact, from the horse's mouth.
Shoot, his first year in Detroit, he went 20 Tds and 16 ints.
That first year, his OC was Anthony Lynn.
Ben Johnson hits the scene, and all of a sudden Goff takes off.
Why the comp to Geno, because he was also highly touted coming out of college and was in convo for the Heisman.
He was also left for dead. He is also extremely talented. Also with a live arm and adequately mobile. And he has also found success in a new place.
The comp ends where Goff had the fortune of replacing Anthony Lynn with Ben Johnson, sirrounded by talent at every slill position, with a top ranked o line , and his career took off.
Readonable comp to me.
Goff’s issue was he needed a lot of help from McVay and he was anti clutch. I wouldn’t even say he flamed out. Goff performed pretty well on the Rams.I guess I don’t get your point. There is no guarantee Geno does anything close to what Goff is doing if he was in that system. Coaching matters. Execution matters too.
Goff actually had a couple of really good years with the Rams 4,700 yards, 32 touchdowns and a rating over 100. He was really good before going to Detroit

Again, ones been to a SB and was the #1 pick. One hasn't. One is causing off-season meltdowns on fan threads, one is still playing and has an entire city chanting his name everywhere he goes.
Who's that project QB?Geno is the 3rd best QB in the division. Stafford and Purdy are both better than Geno. for us to win the division consistently you need a better QB or a better Defense and a better supporting cast on offense. The best course of action is to let Geno play out his contract while you fix other things. Go ahead and draft a project QB this year, but roll with Geno next year. I'm not seeing another better option.
If you want to suck the next couple years then go with Howell , some other journeymen (Mac Jones / Winston or the like)or a rookie that still wont be the answer because there are none this year. Otherwise you go with Geno and do your best to make the team around him better. The smartest option is probably to ride with Geno but trade down as often as possible to stockpile some future picks and possibly trade assets (like DK) who won’t be around for the eventual (hopefully) glory days to do the same. The answer at QB is not coming this offseason. Geno is the best option if you want to compete. But maybe you want to tank?
We can go round and round in circles posting stats and countering points that can't possibly ever be proved. What's the actual point? Geno is a 12-15 QB, he's going to be 35 and in order for him to play at a high level we need to do things that aren't possible by the time he's too old.It wasnt McVay. It was anonymous input by staff.
And why isnt it true?
He wasnt great his last 2 years there. McVay didnt even want to play him and on more than one occassion was seen chewing him out on the sideline. Its not like he was playing well and his coach didnt like him. He was solved in the SB and never had the smarts to recover and overcome the challenges they had the following years.
And how can one even dispute that it was true when Stafford came in and rode the same system to a SB, while Goff went to Detroit and had a pretty pedestrian season, going 3-10-1 , barely above 2:1 td to int.
He didnt get better until Johnson came along. Same team, same hc, different OC takes Goff and has him throw 10 more TDs and 1 less INT. And the following year was better.
Meanwhile, same HC / OC in LA and McVay goes from 20 TDs and 13 INTs with Goff to 41 TDs and 17 INts with Stafford...
The system Goff is in with the talent around him is making him who he is. Before that he had McVay calling plays for him and found success when McVay had the talent up front to protect him. When he didnt, he failed.
Staffords 41 TDs his first year with McVay was the most he'd ever thrown, by a good bit with the exception of his 3rd year and if you look at his stats overall, they dont look as 'elite' as some would have you believe.
His best completion percentage - 68%, with 9 of his 16 years seeing less than 65%. He has only ever topped 30 TDs 3 times in his career.
What McVay saw was a guy who, despite the less than impressive numbers, could process quickly and who had accomplished what he had on some pretty bad offenses, with bad protection and crap coordinators.
Sound familiar?
Talking about stats. Geno’s stats mean nothing when we’re watching other teams in the playoffs. I hold Geno accountable for our losses because of the kind of leader he is and we came up inches short. He could have found a way to refuse to lose somewhere in this season that woulda put us in the playoffs but I don’t think he has that kinda will. W’sThe Ws?
In what sense?

I'm more convinced than ever that people either don't watch any of these games or have no idea what they're watching. This phenomenon doesn't even need the Geno component. These people are completely oblivious to how often all of these QBs make poor decisions, throw bad balls right at defenders that get picked or often don't.I'm trying to figure out if you are purposefully ignoring that Geno was better than Stroud this year or just unaware of it. Like, entirely. Success Rate, Passer Rating, QBR, ANY/A... our overall offense was better than Houston's, too.
And this was Geno's second straight year with a bottom of the barrel offensive line, and he was even better last year when he didn't have a college OC who had no idea what he was doing.
There is literally no reason to assume Houston wouldn't be better with Geno than Stroud. The difference, of course, is Stroud is much younger and on a rookie contract. I wouldn't trade Stroud for Geno if I were them, but they'd almost undoubtedly have been better this year and last.
What team/s could Geno go to today and replace their QB and be Super Bowl contender? With zero other changes?
TheRavens are the only team where it is even a maybe for me. Put him on the Chiefs,Lions, Bills, Texans, etc TODAY and they go from contenders to pretenders. Even the Vikings I think.
I'm not done watching tape yet. Dart maybe? I need to watch his game tape and not just highlights. Going to spend some time watching the qb's this offseason.Who's that project QB?
