I love these speeches!

Interesting to see Darnold here, though. hmm...

Anyway, Mike has to be on cloud-nine right now because THIS Is who (Defense) he wants to win games.

Yeah I love it!

I have to say Darnold stuck out to me too. He looked down on himself here.

I wonder if he was being given a pep talk before the cameras rolled by MacDonald, being told he did a very good job in "taking one for the team" or something with all the sacks and throwing the ball away instead of forcing it while letting the D do its thing?

Love the talk from coach. I did not see anything negative or down from Sam (and c’mon man, that was about a -1 second view of him. You really can’t decipher any kind of meaning from that.)

Why was it odd to see Darnold there? Dude prevailed against a legit high school pass blocking scheme and Anthony Bradford as his RG...

200

(though I said it was "interesting", not odd if we're going to be technical about it. 🙃 )

I'm not so sure I'm seeing what y'all are seeing re: Sam.

Maybe he's just in the middle of trying to take his jersey/pads off?

Yeah but I'm just saying that this is the first time all season, that I've seen him in these Postgame locker room speeches in the camera-shot.

Usually, I don't see him anywhere. That's all.

Time for someone in that organization to have a serious talk with him about clock management. Why settle for a long FG, when you had 3 timeouts in your pocket and 1:46 minutes to drive the ball down the field. That is not putting your team in a position to succeed. Head scratching to me.
They managed the clock perfectly. They were playing a team that couldn't score a point against us.

Because a struggling offense has never come out of the half on fire? You can’t just take back momentum at will. As much as I hated the hoodie that is one thing he understood more than any other coach. Maximum effort start to finish, embarrass the other team to keep momentum.

We scored and left only a couple of seconds on the clock at the end of the half. I call that a success.

Time management was bad to the end the half. But they still got the 3. Meh. Learn from it, I suspect coach will. Team is sitting at 9-3, pretty damn solid. EVERY team in the entire league does stupid stuff and/or has ugly games. This isn't just a Seattle thing. They're stacking wins. I like it.

Well, let's be honest Hawker. You don't strike me as someone who is satisfied with much of anything the Hawks do. And that's cool, do you.

While not playing optimally because of trying to beat the clock.
I just did not see what they did at the end of the 1st half at all egregious. We can a difference of opinion. Again, they got the ball near midfield with all three timeouts and 45-50 seconds to go in the half. That's plenty of time to score in today's NFL. The fact of the matter was the Vikes were all over Sam before that. JSN had only one catch. We weren't moving the ball. And we didn't really then either, settling for a long FG. We didn't want to leave time on the clock in such a situation.

Just the way I saw it.

It's complimentary football. Coach has been preaching it all year long. Your offense had not deciphered that defense and was not moving the ball well against them at all. The most important thing to MacDonald in that moment was to give yourself some opportunity to score but leave their offense no time for another possession. Especially since your defense was carrying you that game, don't put another unnecessary sequence on them too. If they'd used the timeouts early and went 3 and out? That was worst case scenario to MacDonald and he's been pretty right so far. I'll stick with him.

Exactly. Situational football.
