So Sidneys knee still isn't full go.
That would explain a hell of a lot.
I assumed that he looked a little out of sorts.
Hell ,he's only human, and if people can excuse some iffy play by Larry Fitzgerrald, and his sore hammy, then I think Rice deserves no less.
Yes he made some bone head mistakes in the last Month, but he's slowly coming back around.

I think anyone who has watched him could figure this out.

Rice had a huge game tonight though.

Rice is hearing footsteps...

Oh damn, I forgot to read his mind! I knew something was amiss. Good move!

A lot of us suspected as much. If he left during camp it must have been problematic. Getting better at least.

Rice did not have a huge game. He had an average game. The fact the we think average is huge demonstrates how low our expectations for Rice have fallen.

Honest question, does Rice fall down every time he catches the ball?
He even falls down prior to catching the ball and usually when he doesn't even catch the ball. I don't think he believes in YAC.

Knee injuries suck and they can take forever to heal (if they ever do, I know my never has). It just may be a case of an injury that will be an issue all year. He's still one the better WR's on the team even with a bad knee. It'll be interesting to see if Kearse gets a few more snaps here and there running deep routes, then there is Harvin coming back over the next few weeks too.

Funny, but I think it has more to do with the nature of how you use Sidney Rice. He's not a YAC monster like Tate or Harvin. Yes plenty he's fast with lots of top end speed, but he doesn't have that blistering quickness to create lots of separation on his cuts (though he sure had tons on his TD last night!). Sure he ran a 4.5 back in the day, but I don't think he's been quite that fast since he had the hip surgery (and now his knees are giving him trouble). He's 6'4" so he's a really long bodied reciever who's always going to be able to win the fight to get the ball if the QB puts it in the right place. He's like a rebound specialist in B-Ball.

By nature, you're throwing a lot of balls on the fringe of his range to take advantage of his length to achieve instant separation. As such he's usually fully extended, reaching out for those balls, and falls down as part of the process. Especially those sideline catches where he's hemmed in by the line.

I thought he had a great game last night though. Much needed!

It wasn't huge as in 10 receptions 150 yards - 100% agree

BUT

It was huge from importance of catches. 3rd down just by the ground that was originally called not caught, TD etc - some key catches that keeps the ball where it belongs

He sure seemed to "believe" in it last year when he won the Chicago game with a phenomenal effort after the catch.

Your comment is a joke, IMHO.

Rice has made some really big plays this season. I love the fact he's playing through his knee problem. We've need every little bit he's been able to contribute with Harvin and Miller out.

The problem is most people are saying his knee problem is chronic (thus the trip to Europe to see the super secret Himalayan witch doctor), and not something he can "play through."

He's just not that good. He had that one good year with Minnesota which was do to Brett Favre throwing the ball. Favre had a way of making receivers better than what they are. Tom Brady is like that as well.
