What do we think happens after this season? He is one of my all-time favorite Hawks, but his reduced role in our new offense is obvious. OTC shows $13.5M dead money next year if cut or traded. Maybe he retires? Personally, I’d love to see him extended to finish his career in Seattle at a pay rate that is more reflective of his current utilization/capability.

I think he gets cut or a new smaller deal to stay. I think he signs on with a contender though. He'd still be the best wr on the Chi3fs.

I think they will do whatever tyler wants and or extend, cut, retire He is still a valuable outlet and savvy but father time wins em all and tylers smart enough to know that

At the very least, it would have to be a restructured/or new contract that was very team friendly to keep him around another year. We've got to cut back somewhere with our CAP situation.

Cut, Then retires... The facts are we can't keep him at any price given his lack of production this year just shows his time has passed, we just need to move on and find a younger/cheaper option at the 3rd WR spot...

I hate when beloved players don’t retire as a hawk. Kj wright, Bobby Wagner, especially when they are at the end of their careers, sometimes I don’t even care if it has a negative impact on the team, loyalty is everything. Tyler deserves loyalty and to write his own ending
In a perfect world yes, but at the end of the day this is a business and business decisions have to be made for the better of the team...

Cut, Then retires...
This to me is just so sad. I'm not saying you're wrong, as you're equally entitled to have a different opinion, of course!

Someone here once said something about it (the NFL) becoming a thing of simply "our multi-millionaires" against "your multi-millionaires" each week (as I approximately recall)...

///All/// about money, and the (estimated) "value" of someone. My interest has diminished, and I don't watch much more than a few condensed games these days.

His 2025 cap hit is $30.9M or a $4M dead cap hit if cut.

Seattle isn't paying him $26.9M next year. The only option is they renegotiate a fair deal or Seattle cuts him and Lockett explores his options.

He’s going to be cut because the pay for him next year is insane. I think he joined another team. Maybe Russ in Pittsburgh?

Not to jinx things, but a hypothetical DK Metcalf torn ACL, and now Tyler is worth every dime for next season.

Would love to see Tyler one more season but I really think this season is his swan song. In that case, I really hope he retires a Seahawk. Please don’t fade away on other teams aka Wags/KJ.

Agreed, It's hard to justify over $26mill for a 32yr old 3rd string WR... If he's willing to play for $5-$6 mill that might keep him here, but I still feel that's too much to pay for him at this point...

This reminds me of when we all said it's time for Bobby to go. I think he still has the goods to play for another 2 years. Imo we need to restructure his contract and extend him for another 2 years.
