Precisely why I stay off the boards during game time.

I have to say I haven't given up on a single game since about half way through the season last year... even though it's looked shaky at times like today, there's just something about this team that won't let me NOT BELIEVE they can win it.... no matter what.

Those who declared it over early learned a lesson today and probably wont make that mistake again but they are still our fellow hawks fans. i hope people don't get too finger pointy about it.

You can be a great fan and still say something dumb sometimes. no harm no foul and lets move on! all of us.

I have no aignst toward any doubters. It's pure emotion and I understand people need to vent, but for god sakes man get a grip! I personally can't stand people giving up at half time in a game we knew was going to be a brawl in every apect of the game.

This is all i'm going to say on the subject:

The game is NOT decided by who happens to be on an opponent's roster.

The game is NOT decided by the injuries sustained the week before.

The game is NOT decided in the first half of ANY game.

Believe in this team. Remember this day.

What I find surprising is that there are still people who think a 3 score differential is insurmountable. I know a lot of people were shielding themselves (early) for the pain of the loss, but you can't ever believe this team is going to lose by more than a TD. And if they're within a TD, they've got a chance to win.

I admit, I wanted to do the same. I wanted to not watch or listen anymore. But I forced myself to sit down because I just knew a pick 6 was going to happen to tie the game. (This really happened. I really did sit down and expect to see someone grab that ball out of the air and run it back.)

We turn on each other with every momentum swing in the game day forum. But then when its over we all brothers and love each other again. It's all part of the fun.

As a fan that has watched the Hawks lose in every conceivable way, at home, on the road, in person and on TV, BS calls, amazingly dumb play etc, it's much easier if you stay off the boards until the game is over. If the Hawks lose go find something to do outside or in the garage. Don't watch any games afterwards and don't talk to the wife.

My dad is one of those guys that starts boiling over in the first quarter, swears like a sailor and will bail at halftime. My brother and I just keep calm and wait it out. In years past I would have walked away from a game like this, but this year feels different, a lot like the Mariners of 1995. The hawks will lose a couple of games this year, just be prepared for it. The offensive isn't good enough yet to dominate every game and eventually the D will get tired / let down. RW isn't elite yet, probably has to do with 3/5th of the starting line out. The hawks are still good enough to beat most teams.

The 10:00am starts aren't helping either. Anyone else notice how much sharper the O and D looked as it got closer to 1:00PM PST?

Who amongst us have never said things about our Seahawks that made us feel foolish only minutes or hours later?

Me. I have never done that. Ever.

Anyone (which includes myself) who declared the game over in the 2nd quarter was probably being the most realistic of fans. That was an unrealistic and miraculous comeback win given the injuries and the way we were playing through the entire first half. Not every seahawk fan still farts sunshine and rainbows when they look as awful as they did. Doesn't mean we aren't equally as hardcore about this team.

Apparently it wasn't a realistic assessment because the game wasn't over and they didn't lose. It might have been realistic to say they have a 20% chance of winning, but even then... ah I give up. If people want to vent that's fine with me.

After the Atlanta game last season, I never, EVER worry about a big deficit early. I'll believe a comeback is possible right up until we're at the point of discussing the finer points of the onside kick.

I resisted as long as I could, but in a thread about fans not turning on each other, there is a whole lot of...turning on each other (some exceptions).

I don't take it that seriously if someone says "it's over" in a gameday forum. Even if they present a case as to why it's over. If they really believed that they'd stop watching the game.

Apparently not, though, apparently gameday reactions are legitimate platforms for other fans to erect an "I'm better than you" campaign on. That seems a rather flimsy pretext to me. If WE were playing the game then I'd get it. Since our role is to watch and react, it's a head-scratcher why one reaction is better than another.

With everyones personal superstitions and rituals we should never lose. I never wear hawks gear a day before or on game day. My girlfriend put my son in a hawks shirt today. I told her, take that off him. She did not and left the house with him to go to her Mothers. At the half I text her to get that shirt off. She finally did so. I asked for pic confirmation, lol. We won!

I have seen to many games where teams can score three times in under 2 minutes, a pick, a onside, and a big run or pass where a player breaks one tackle and then a turnover for a field goal are more then realistic in todays NFL.

Of you have a team that is commited to making plays anyone of them can make a difference.

Adjustments and a team thinking it's comfortable at home can be the recepie for a swing in momentum that the home team can't get back.

After the CHI, WAS, ATL games, i'll never count theses guys out, we seem to be a second half team, Quinn seems to be very gifted at making halftime adjustments, as was Bradley in the second half of the season. Our D will more often than not keep us in the game, our O is a slow starter right now, but i still think it will improve like it did last year, but as long as we have RW under center, he'll find a way... In till the final guns sounds baby....
