Most I just don’t see the benefit of starting the chatter this early.. I mean if I’m another team, this screams and sounds no different than a player crying displeasure about playing for a team aka Adams and the Jets. If Russ really wants a trade his camp needs to quit with making public comments about which teams he is willing to play for. It really hamstrings Schneider's ability to get good value in return with only 3 teams bidding. Watch Seattle get less for Wilson than the Jets received for Adams. :cussing:

What your saying could very well be the case. from my perspective I don't see what he would have to gain by making his pitch to be traded now or letting the world know he is unhappy. there are 5 more games to be played and a slim chance to make the playoffs.. None of it makes any since to me...

I question the report...that's two reports I've heard that Wilson does not want to be in Seattle, but the weird thing is, none of the beat writers are writing about it. if it's true,that would not be the case. Just for the record, I'm NOT against a trade for the right price, I just don't think there is an advantage to anybody talking about it right now.

I don't see any benefit to Wilson starting that rumor. even if he did want to be traded why would he start that process now? that makes no since. wilson is an optimist he is thinking nothing other than winning against the Texans. I buy nothing else

The benefit would be to increase interest in the named cities. Fan bases can put an enormous amount of pressure on owners and GM's. How long has it been since the Bears had a franchise QB? They have a 1% chance of making the playoffs, so if you're a Bears fan...and they have a huge fan base...are you going to be excited at the possibility of seeing Russell in black and orange? All 3 of those teams have very large fan bases and they're all on the outside looking in for the playoffs.

I don't necessarily buy the rumor, but Sports Illustrated picked it up and they aren't exactly a gossipy publication.
