Latino Seahawks

As we drafted Damien Martinez it got me curious how many Latino players have played for the Seahawks. Obviously I can't say for sure anyone's true heritage so I'm just going on surnames that would fit that category.

The three players I could find were were truly FOOTballers.

Frank Garcia, who punted the last game in 1981 when Jeff West was injured.

Ruben Rodriguez was drafted in the 5th round in 1987 and was our regular punter for 3 years. I think if .net was around then he would have been a regular 'whipping boy' as he never lived up to his draft status.

Efren Herrera! Our kicker from '78 - '82 and special teams secret weapon!

I should also mention head coach/GM Tom Flores. (Now before this thread turns into a Flores hate thing, the guy could coach, just had a terrible boss).

He is part latino I think.

He went to high school and college in Arizona so i would figure he has Latino roots. Lots of MLB players named Garcia are Latino.

Virtually every Latino name is a Spanish name. (Or Portuguese)

I don’t think a lot of Aztec, Olmec, Inca, or Mayan names survived “La
Conquista.”
